Birgit Schaller
in a cabaret show by Wolfgang Schaller
Verweile doch, noch bin ich schön
is the name of Birgit Schaller's new program, inviting along with the musical comedians Holger Miersch, Christoph Hermann/Dietrich Zöllner, and Tilman Droste/Philipp Adam to a rollercoaster ride of emotions from pure joy to quiet melancholy. The audience and press were thrilled. “New, celebrated program by cabaret legend Wolfgang Schaller for his wife,” headlined the SZ. “The hall goes wild.” The DNN calls the musicians “fabulous multi-talents on many instruments, who hold the stirrup for the comedienne on her wild ride through women's desires, female love, and real life.” Birgit Schaller, the press writes, “is great fun as an impressive chanteuse and touching character actress with brilliant cabaret scenes and great chansons, allowing a deep glimpse into the souls of this genre-defining artist couple with the texts of Wolfgang Schaller. A woman who excels in her field.” And the Morgenpost adds, “Birgit Schaller in top form.” This is her third solo program, in which she, as a “seductively sparkling full-blooded woman,” confesses that she is a woman and that marriage is the most beautiful difficulty in the world, questioning why women can't at least lead while dancing. She acts, sings, parodies Barbie, and jazzes Bach. The spirit of the times, which sometimes seems like a ghost time to her. A program where fun is meant seriously and seriousness is fun.
