They are beautiful, sharp, quirky, and highly musical – and resilient. The latter is essential, because who else performs all their stage programs simultaneously? There are five since 2011, and some highlights are simply too precious to only sparkle and shine occasionally. So, once thoroughly shaken and stirred, the result is an adventurous mix in the best Schöne Mannheims style: songs and comedy, uproariously funny and beautifully touching. Without regard for personal feelings and with plenty of self-irony, the name Schöne Mannheims stands primarily for one thing: high-class musical entertainment, made in Monnem!

The beauties are three fantastic voices and a brilliantly played piano: the singers and actresses Anna Krämer and Susanne Back, as well as opera diva Smaida Platais. At the keys, virtuously and sensitively, the mistress of the raised eyebrow - Stefanie Titus.

It can be celebrated: After school yards, pimples, and planning for the family, we have left the worst behind us and are still here! Advertising calls us "Best Agers" and the world is open to us, as long as we have the necessary pocket money. Okay, many of us can’t make a move without a noise anymore and for some, the arms are too short to read the large print, but the signs on the way to self-realization are only seen with the heart, right?
But, watch out: The second half of life shouldn't be wasted on bad calendar quotes! The clock is ticking, so we need to make decisions quickly regarding self-realization: Master’s degree, climbing Mount Everest, or a Me Time Challenge with macramé? Saving the world or a wine tasting?
And how do you maintain joy in life despite the obvious decline? Dagmar Schönleber knows: Luckily, we have more life experience, gut feeling, and tranquility in the second puberty. We can only handle half as many drinks as before, but we wear everything with dignity except orthopedic shoes in beige!
In words and music of all kinds, Mrs. Schönleber combines intelligence and silliness, herself with the audience, and warmth with humor, declaring:

Isn't it beautiful here

There are places that only begin to shine in the right light – and sometimes this light is a song, sometimes it’s a neon tube over frozen pizza. In the series "Culture in the Supermarket," author, comedian, and songwriter Roger Stein tries to shed light on both sides.

In his new program "Isn't it beautiful here," Roger Stein transforms the supermarket into a poetic stage – aisle by aisle. He magnifies the seemingly banal and discovers entire universes within it.

Stein does not portray smooth heroes but rather colorful figures – with all their breaks, contradictions, and tender longings. In the "Lobbyist Tango," for example, power dances with morality, but instead of pointing fingers, there’s winking, instead of cynicism – empathy. Roger Stein has a keen sense for nuances and even finds a spark of warmth in the coolest characters.

A panopticon of the present unfolds in these songs: friendship, skilled labor shortages, survival artists, and self-survivalists share the stage, encounter one another, clash – and yet all remain part of the same, sometimes quirky, sometimes beautiful world, poetically captured in rhyming language.

Musically, Roger Stein moves in an exciting blend of Schubertian depth and elegant pop charm – always seasoned with a good portion of mischief and fine humor. Rapid-fire comedy numbers are in lively dialogue with touching ballads, creating a program that invites both laughter and listening. A sound between asphalt dust and twilight, between dance hall and counter, between irony and intimacy.

"Isn't it beautiful here" is more than an album title – it is an invitation to lift your gaze, to tilt your perspective, to seek the beauty in the crooked.

Roger Stein has long found his artistic home in his songs on the record label of Konstantin Wecker, where he has been releasing his albums since 2013. The question and the doubt run as a central theme throughout the program. And so the mischievous song poet asks: Is the reality in which we live truly the only choice? Are we the owners of our own parallel worlds? And is chance at all conceivable without a logic constructed by us humans?
