CAFÉ DEL MUNDO: GuitaRevolution - SYMPHONIC feat. Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt
Two chairs, two guitars, and two microphones - that's all the two guitarists Jan Pascal and Alexander Kilian need to touch hearts, enchant, pull people from their seats, and unleash a myriad of emotions, overcoming all boundaries. Café del Mundo plays a unique sound. Their finely tuned guitars radiate, from the very first note, that southern joy of life that celebrates life and at the same time deeply moves - this is what guitar sounds like today!
As artist personalities, they are opposites: Alexander Kilian is considered a guitar prodigy, highly virtuosic, extroverted, and award-winning; he sometimes dances through the rows of chairs. Jan Pascal is the poet with depth, meaning, and sensitivity for the melodies of life. A concert by Café del Mundo is an experience, an encounter, a tribute to the great love of life, to the interconnectedness of everything and everyone, and to pure momentary joy - "guitartainment" - that's how we love it.
Two musicians, for whom there seems to be no place in the conventional system, randomly meet at a workshop given by the twelve years older guitarist. They are very different but immediately come together, living their shared dream: to open their instrument, the Andalusian flamenco guitar, to audiences worldwide. A decade of hard work follows, crossing the desert of niche. The breakthrough comes during the pandemic with their own sensitive yet energizing interpretations of classics from pop and film music. "Viva la Vida" first receives 1.5 million views, while "Una Mattina" counts over 120 million streams on Instagram. Worldwide concert invitations follow.
The new tour GuitaRevolution Symphonic will not only stand under the sign of their album Symphonic. Together, the duo will present their very own mix of great rock & pop hits, traditional works, and original compositions with the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt - which has already collaborated with musicians such as Deep Purple, Peter Gabriel, David Garrett, or Robbie Williams.
