The name "Stage Theater des Westens" was given to the theater in 2011, before that it was simply called "Theater des Westens". It is one of the most renowned and beautiful theaters in Germany.
Since its construction in 1895, a variety of performances and premieres have taken place at the theater, mostly in the genres of musicals, opera & operetta, but also festivals, concerts, pantomime, and ballet productions could be enjoyed here.
From 2003 onwards, musicals have been predominantly performed, such as Les Miserables, The Three Musketeers, Manitou's Shoe, We will rock you, Dance of the Vampires, Sister Act, and many more.
In addition, there are regular open house events, during which visitors can take a peek behind the scenes.
Overall, the theater offers 7 rooms, including the main foyer and the 1,200 m² large theater hall, which can accommodate approximately 1,600 people. The Mirror Hall can accommodate up to 600 people depending on the type of event.
Due to its central location, the theater is easily accessible by S-Bahn, U-Bahn, bus, and, of course, by car.
