WALKING ON RIVERS - Bright Screen, Red Eyes, Science Fiction Tour
After their EP "Bright Screen, Red Eyes, Science Fiction" was released in October and praised by critics, WALKING ON RIVERS makes a striking comeback: The Dortmund indie project is now represented by a.s.s. concerts & promotion – and will launch in 2025 with fresh sound, new spirit, and a live duo formation.
From the previous trio, a duo has emerged: David Laudage and Martin Kreuzer will present live for the first time in October 2025 the musical results of their intense songwriting phase in 2024. The heart of this creative redirection is a four-week stay in Oklahoma City (USA) together with producer Sven Ludwig (among others Fil Bo Riva, OK KID, Lina Maly), who has significantly shaped the sound.
Musically, the band has transformed – but not unfamiliar: Deeper soundscapes, danceable arrangements, and bold, unorthodox elements meet the catchy indie-pop melodies that characterize WALKING ON RIVERS. The production of their debut album (Release: TBA) is already in full swing, with initial audio samples on the horizon.
The band originated in the heart of the Ruhr area – in Dortmund. Since their founding in 2015, WALKING ON RIVERS has played over a hundred national and international shows, including renowned festivals such as Juicy Beats, Sound of the Forest, Traumzeit, or Juwenalia Krakow. Early on, they enjoyed radio airplay and interviews (including 1LIVE) as well as support from the NRW Music Council and the band pool of the Pop Academy – all long before their first official release.
WALKING ON RIVERS blend folk roots with atmospheric indie-pop, multi-voiced arrangements, and a longing that applies not only to nature but to all those moments that break through the everyday. Their songs tell of nocturnal musings, fleeting escapes, and small getaways – from life as we know it.
