NATURALLY 7 creates the multifaceted sound cosmos of an entire band from the sound of drums, bass, guitar, harmonica, or trombone – all completely without instruments! The 7 men sing a cappella, but they cannot be compared to many other groups in this genre, as only a few achieve such a perfect sound. Sometimes it’s R’n’B, soul, or hip-hop, sometimes gospel, pop, or even rock. With playful perfection and absolutely impressive musical and interpersonal harmony, NATURALLY 7 continually provides their audience with unforgettable experiences of an extraordinary kind. In addition to their musical skills, the seven vocal artists are also great entertainers, and their presence on stage reaches every spot in the house and has enchanted every visitor so far.
For now, 25 years, the "band without band" has been touring the entire world: With SARAH CONNOR and the single “Music is the Key” reaching number 1 in the German charts in 2003, three world tours with MICHAEL BUBLÈ alongside BUBLÈ, QUINCY JONES, LUDACRIS, and in 2019 achieving number 1 in the "World’s Best Band" category in JAMES CORDEN's show "World’s Best". In 2023, they are touring with PUR through Germany, alongside numerous own tours through America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, with an arena tour planned in 2024 with best-selling author SEBASTIAN FITZEK before over 150,000 people.
Therefore, it is now time for a close and personal insight, time for a “Closer Look” at the 25th band anniversary. In 2025, the band invites you to their “Closer Look – 25 Years” tour, for which the guys will play a kind of best of their band history. The program also holds a surprise or two for the audience.
NATURALLY 7 was founded in 1999 by ROGER THOMAS, who, along with his brother WARREN, sought out five more talented singers from the area. The decisive factor was that WARREN wanted a drum kit as a child. However, their mother said it would make too much noise. Therefore, he began to mimic various drum sounds vocally and with his mouth, which has been referred to as "beatboxing" in hip-hop since the 1980s. Thus, one thing led to another, and the other band members also found joy in imitating instruments, which then became NATURALLY 7's trademark.
Moreover, it is also the distinguishing feature compared to many a cappella groups that primarily perform vocally. What comes so playfully easy to the seven Americans is what they call “Vocal Play.”
The exceptional musicians, including the two founding brothers ROGER (Musical Director, Arranger, 1st Baritone & Rapper) and WARREN THOMAS (Percussion, “Guitar”, “Clarinet” & 3rd Tenor), along with ROD ELRIDGE (1st Tenor, “Scratching” & “Trumpet”), SEAN SIMMONDS (2nd Tenor & “Harmonica”), RICKY CORT (4th Tenor & “Guitar”), DWIGHT STEWART (2nd Baritone & “Trumpet”) and NNAMDI BRYANT (Bass), are virtually nonstop on the move, as their home is the stage. There, the acoustic illusion of a small big band in various forms can be experienced up close.
Anyone who witnesses this can only agree that this is a “seven-voice world wonder” (“Die Welt”) or, as Michael Jackson's producer QUINCY JONES expressed: “NATURALLY 7 is the best a cappella band of all time!”
