saal_46 Maria Stuart im BAYRISCHEN HOF - Eine wahre Geschichte nach dem Krieg
1946. A year after the end of the war: black market, hardship, mourning for fallen fathers and brothers. Despite all this, Max Veitl, the local pastor, stages Schiller's "Maria Stuart" with the parish youth. During the rehearsals, the performers confront their war experiences. As children, they could not understand much. Unprocessed emotions are bubbling within them. Does the theater play bring perspective to their lives? Like a magnifying glass, a cosmos of the post-war period unfolds in Herxheim, where the Scottish queen wanders. Eccentric yet true, as Honoré de Balzac once said: "World history plays out in every village."
“saal46” is a theater experiment – exciting, touching, humorous – based on the memories of Herxheim citizens.
On Sunday, May 3rd, there will be a free introduction to the play with the director at 6 PM in the rehearsal stage.
