With a collection of the three cultural sectors of word, music, and exhibition, the KulturKiste opens several times a year for selected themed evenings. Various artists from the region present their culture and engage in discussions about connecting themes in their creations.

Theme: from (Un)Visibility
The better our brain knows circumstances, the less it perceives them. Since there are some seemingly well-known topics and groups of people in our society, they often remain unseen. How can we bring these back into our field of vision to strengthen their self-efficacy? Are strong societies those that overlook as few as possible? How can we ensure that we do not lose our humanity, diversity, and resilience?

For over 30 years, the association has been ensuring that poor and homeless people are not overlooked. It offers help for self-help, gives a voice to those who have fallen outside the edge of society, and breaks down barriers on all sides. This creates a vibrant offering for those affected and interested: the monthly magazine, the Shift Change city tours, the benefit CD, and much more.

Erik Stenzel (Guitar)
The Nuremberg singer-songwriter is the voice of outrage against the silence of destruction. His critical, energetic poetry sings about a world worth saving, a society worth examining. With anger and hope, he reports on tasks and deeds that simultaneously challenge and inspire us.

Astrid Betz and Sabrina Weyh (Nuremberg Memorial Sites)
Together with two other co-authors, they published a city guide titled "Remembering not forgetting" that aims to make our culture of remembrance visible by rediscovering memorial sites in Nuremberg. Their book looks at places we routinely pass by carelessly and reveals memorials of which we were completely unaware.

The KulturKiste is curated and moderated by musician Annkathrin Slavik and author Robert Wolfgang Segel.
