Die geballte Hörnerkraft zum Kammermusik-Auftakt. »Wenn ich ein Horn höre, wird mir warm ums Herz«, hat Robert Schumann einmal geschrieben. »Das Horn hat etwas vom Klang der Natur. Es spricht zum Herzen wie die Stimme eines Freundes«, meinte Mozart. Für den großen Instrumentationsmeister Richard Strauss war es »die Seele des Orchesters« und Benjamin Britten meinte, das Horn sei »ein wahrer Schauspieler im Orchester«, es könne flüstern, schreien, lachen, weinen. Nicht auszumalen, was einen erwartet, wenn in diesem Kammerkonzert nicht nur ein oder zwei, sondern gleich die gesamte Batterie der Hörner zu erleben ist. Quer durch die Stile und Epochen geht es dabei. Von Klassikern wie »Egmont« und »Lohengrin« bis zu Musical-Hits à la »Cats« und Trickfilm-Highlights wie »How To Train Your Dragon« und »Captain Hook«. The concentrated power of horns at the start of chamber music. »When I hear a horn, it warms my heart,« Robert Schumann once wrote. »The horn has something of the sound of nature. It speaks to the heart like the voice of a friend,« said Mozart. For the great instrumentation master Richard Strauss, it was »the soul of the orchestra« and Benjamin Britten said that the horn was »a true actor in the orchestra«, it could whisper, shout, laugh and cry. It´s hard to imagine what you can expect when this chamber concert features not just one or two, but the entire battery of horns. The program spans styles and eras. From classics such as »Egmont« and »Lohengrin« to musical hits à la »Cats« and cartoon highlights such as »How To Train Your Dragon« and »Captain Hook«. The horns of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony at their best!
