PENIS – EINE UMARMUNG - Berlin-Premiere
As the last survivors of their kind, two female astronauts journey into space, suddenly standing in front of a closed, phallic plant in the midst of a barren crater landscape. Bold yet sensitive, they make their way to the care-intensive and frivolous plant...
A Swiss and a Munich theater maker dedicate their first joint stage play to a radical act of empathy, aiming to create access to a privately and politically mined field, and a gender communication beyond polarization. Thus, a musical landing on the moon of masculinity emerged, full of "empathos," eros, and internally tilted Ramazottis.
The vividly imaginative stage spectacle is initially based on research: interviews with many men about their sexuality, possible fears, well-known misunderstandings, or superpower wishes. The attentive approach in conversation allowed for honesty and the discovery of a male fragility that still often goes unnoticed.
"... a clever, trashy, musical, and always funny variety theater show of higher cognitive value and full of abysses." - Egbert Tholl, Süddeutsche Zeitung

LUCY WIRTH studied in Munich and was a permanent ensemble member at the Residenztheater and at the Schaubühne Berlin. In 2022, she realized "Motherhood" with Victoria Dietrich and Patrick Wengenroth, which was performed in Munich, Freiburg, and Berlin in 2023. She is currently touring with collectively designed comic readings based on Liv Strömquist. She enjoys making theater that is not the doctor, but the wound, and likes to connect energetically and sensually with the audience.
MILVA STARK studied acting at the UdK in Berlin. After guest engagements at the Ernst Deutsch Theater and the Berlin Schaubühne, she joined the Konzert Theater Bern in the summer of 2008. With "Goldener Drache," "Murder Ballads," and "Mondkreisläufer," she was invited to the Author Theater Days at DT Berlin. Since 2021, she has been a freelance artist; among other things, she showed her first solo work at the Schlachthaus Bern in 2024.
PATRICK WENGENROTH co-founded the then-theater discount and developed the theater-show format "Planet Porno" in 2003, which later found its artistic home at HAU. He regularly directs at the Schaubühne, in Schwerin, Karlsruhe, and many other venues. Additionally, he produced various radio plays for Deutschlandradio Kultur and appeared as a critic on ZDF-Kulturpalast. From 2017 to 2019, he was the director of the Augsburg Brecht Festival.
