Tanz trifft Tuba. Mit hr-Solist Ole Heiland und einem imposanten Konzert für sein tiefes Blasinstrument von Filmmusik-Tycon John Williams. Zum 100. Geburtstag des Boston Pops Orchestra geschrieben, sei es leicht und melodiös und enthalte hoffentlich genügend Ereignisse, um Spaß zu machen, so der große Kino-Komponist bescheiden selbst. Als quirlig-groteskes Gegenstück dazu ist Igor Strawinskys berühmte Tanz-Burleske über den ewig unglücklichen Helden Petruschka zu erleben – ein Fest der Klänge und der Rhythmen. Die dynamische Kraft der Musik war seinerzeit etwas völlig Neues auf der Ballettbühne und wirkte provozierend auf das Publikum. Für die temperamentvolle Dirigentin Tianyi Lu genau das Richtige, um ebenso zeigen zu können, was musikalisch in ihr steckt.

Dance meets tuba. With hr soloist Ole Heiland and an impressive concerto for his low wind instrument by film music tycon John Williams. Written for the 100th anniversary of the Boston Pops Orchestra, it is light and melodious and hopefully contains enough events to be fun, says the great cinema composer himself modestly. Igor Stravinsky´s famous dance burlesque about the eternally unhappy hero Petrushka can be experienced as a lively, grotesque counterpart to this – a celebration of sounds and rhythms. The dynamic power of the music was something completely new on the ballet stage at that time and had a provocative effect on the audience. Just the right thing for the spirited conductor Tianyi Lu to show what she was capable of musically.
