Many touching gospel songs and pop classics have been selected by the Modern Church Band from Karlsruhe for their benefit concert at the Franziskaner Konzerthaus, Villingen-Schwenningen from their large repertoire. For over 10 years, they have volunteered their time and efforts for charitable purposes far beyond their region of origin.

In addition to the interpretation of the melodies, the translation of their lyrics takes center stage, unlocking the power of composition and message for visitors. The band takes the audience on a journey of beautiful sounds, stories, and voices.

With a five-piece brass section, a large rhythm group, and a vocal ensemble, the Modern Church Band interprets the songs in an exciting way with their own sound that blends soul, swing, blues, and rock, as well as incorporating symphonic elements.

The two vocal soloists, Susanne Kunzweiler, also a long-time soloist of the Karlsruhe Police Music Corps, and Anny Maleyes, a popular wedding singer on a wider scale, lend a very special strength and expression to the concert that is rarely experienced in such versatility.

The Modern Church Band, which does not stand in the tradition of a gospel choir, sparks interest from the very first song, touching the hearts of the audience. With the band’s own empathy, they manage to bring the melodies and contents of the songs so close to the audience that there is hardly ever a concert that does not end with standing ovations.
