Idyllically located in the city park, the Resurrection Church in Fürth is one of the most famous architectural monuments of Classicism in the Cloverleaf City. Dekanatskantor Thomas Schumann will perform festive-virtuoso music for Advent at the opening weekend of the Christkindlesmarkt. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Marcel Dupre, Percy Fletcher, among others, will be heard.

Johann Sebastian Bach: Weihnachtsoratorium - Kantaten I-III,VI

The Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach is for the Windsbacher Boys' Choir much more than a repertoire piece: it is, so to speak, part of its musical DNA. Even the first chords and the heartfelt "Jauchzet frohlocket" captivate the audience year after year. The Windsbacher perform this crowd-pleaser four times, with Cantatas I-III and VI being heard in Nuremberg, Weikersheim, Ansbach, and Bayreuth. The music, without which Christmas is unthinkable for many people, will be performed this year together with the French Baroque orchestra Le Concert Lorrain. Even with these familiar sounds, no concert is alike, thanks to the selection of soloists. The audience can look forward to the countertenor Benno Schachtner, among others.
