Reni & Anna Lisa Azur - Silbenzauber & Seidenklänge
Wortwucht is our new series for songwriters focusing on poetic, political, and everyday stories. For texts that are tenderly clever, beautifully and angrily intertwined - magically beautiful - perfect and imperfect, and that's exactly what makes them so relatable. The opening belongs to two strong voices: The newcomer Reni and the young poet Anna-Lisa Azur invite you to their first joint evening “Silbenzauber & Seidenklänge” - a bubbling interplay of word and music. Or, as they say themselves: We are the fizz in the spritzer, the cherry on the cake, and clearly at home on stage!
Reni
A guitar and her voice are all Reni needs to create great emotions on stage and captivate the audience. Her German-language songs offer a raw honesty and finely curated imagery that provides a deep insight into her emotional world, ranging from broken hearts to online dating escapades to world-weariness and identity crisis. Her performances are a journey through the entire spectrum of emotions - sometimes tragic, sometimes comedic, but always straight to the heart.
Since 2023, Reni has regularly taken to stages across Germany and has now played over 200 live shows. In 2024, she was awarded 1st place in the Dieter Wasilke Folk Promotion Prize and in 2025 with the Newcomer Prize of the Lorscher Abt. Additionally, Reni has been a guest at various event series, such as “Poesie & Wahnsinn” (Unterhaus - Mainz), “Les Artes” (Montez - Frankfurt), or at the “Kultursalon” (Sapperlot Theater - Lorsch). She has also performed several solo concerts, including at the adriAkustik Festival 2025.
Anna Lisa Azur
When Anna Lisa Azur came into this world in 1998, no one could have guessed where it would all lead. She grew up in the Bergisches Land surrounded by umbrellas and bad weather but did not grow especially tall, even though she was often watered with rain. She stumbled upon the stage by chance and has been moderating poetry slams since 2018, song slams since 2022, and she organizes the state championship in song slam for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia annually. She is the founder of Bright Lights e.V., which advocates for intercultural networking and event creation in Germany and Belgium. When she isn’t busy burying her head in funding applications, Anna Lisa writes lyrics. She has received the Karl Marx Poetry Prize twice, the Young Poets Award, the Wilhelm Fabry Promotion Prize, and was awarded at the Leipzig Book Fair in 2024 for her work “Der 5. August”. In her private life, the 27-year-old enjoys cooking passionately, especially French onion soup. She also loves traveling with her fabric turtle Waldemar and lives by the motto: “Just try it out – it could turn out well!”
