Founded in 2014, the Amatis Trio has received significant awards within just a few years – including as “BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists” (2016) and “ECHO Rising Stars” (2018), as well as the recipient of the Dutch “Kersjesprijs” and the “Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.” The trio has performed in 48 countries and made their debut in Japan in 2025. In early 2026, they returned to the Salzburg “Mozart Week” before further appearances in the UK, Spain, and China followed. In addition to their classical-romantic repertoire, the Dutch-German-British trio also enjoys engaging in cross-genre projects, such as with jazz pianist Michael Wollny or clarinetist Ib Hausmann. Beseeled friendships – As a leading viola player of her generation and a shaping educator, Tabea Zimmermann knows from experience the unifying power of making music together. Her instrument often takes on a mediating role in chamber music: balancing, dialogical, supportive. The audience can therefore expect harmonious interaction when Tabea Zimmermann completes the artistic companions Jean-Guihen Queyras and Javier Perianes into a high-caliber trio. The program celebrates the sparks that the meeting of musically excellent personalities generates. The famous Clara Schumann performed with the twelve years younger Joseph Joachim more often than with anyone else. Since 1843 they were on stage together, and their contact deepened into a friendship around 1853 – the same year Joachim introduced the Schumann couple to an exciting young pianist named Johannes Brahms.

The friendship of these four exceptional individuals lasted until the end of their lives and left traces in numerous compositions – such as Joachim’s "Hebrew Melodies," dedicated to Brahms, and Clara Schumann’s "Three Romances," which Joachim provided with markings and phrasing indications for publication. Brahms was also inspired throughout his life by friendships, whether through the singing talent of Joachim's wife Amalie or through the Meiningen clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld, who inspired late masterpieces like the clarinet trio, also authorized for viola.

Already during his vocal studies with Prof. Teru Yoshihara at the HMDK Stuttgart, which he completed with distinction in 2020, he developed a special love for the concert and song repertoire. In 2023, he was awarded the title of Best Emerging Artist at the “Oper! Awards” and recognized as Best Emerging Singer by the magazine “Opernwelt.” In 2024, he won the OPUS KLASSIK in the category of “Singer of the Year.”

As an engaged chamber musician, he has collaborated with Guy Braunstein, Leonidas Kavakos, Kolja Blacher, Yuja Wang, Julia Fischer, Claudio Bohorquez, Sunwook Kim, Bishara Harouni, and Özgür Aydin.
