Two women, a refrigerator, and the all-important question: Do men really make you happy?
This is undoubtedly a question that cannot be answered unconditionally with "yes," especially given the fact that stupid despots, uneducated billionaires, and post-potent potentates are shamelessly tearing the world apart right now. We live in endemic times of sociophobic loneliness, national madness, feminist hyperventilation, and macho compulsive neuroses.
The world as we knew it has completely slipped away from us. Everyone is off balance; two are searching for orientation, politically, privately, pointedly, and out of necessity. Two outstanding cabaret artists, as rarely seen in the small art scene, ignite a fireworks display of skewed reflection.
Anna and Charlotte, two charming and witty women, who claim to be nearly 30, are invited to a wedding, an online wedding. The format has now become established, as virtual hospitality is simply much cheaper than any analog orgy. As an invitation, both receive a detailed instruction manual for the home execution of the celebration along with an extensive shopping list.
On the day of the emotional high feast, both get appropriately dressed up to later connect ceremoniously in a video conference, as Klara, their best friend, virtually marries her best friend, Max, but in reality. The wedding ceremony takes place just like the party on screen; the only real host is the refrigerator. A dramatic yet drunken discourse develops about the big, colorful whole and the pesky, dark little things regarding the essence of relationships, yearning, hope, happiness, and the practical utility of a husband—a mad dialogue about the grotesque nature of life.
Due to the progressively rising alcohol level, which the friendly refrigerator contributes to, precisely following the instructions of the party script, the wedding event escalates into a relationship drama without a relationship, no "Dinner for One," a "Wedding for Two," who cannot marry themselves and also cannot truly participate, neither in the happiness of others nor in their own. Both are trapped in the dilemma of present absence and the unbearable digitality of being. An incredibly funny evening with crazy twists, astonishing surprises, roaring situational comedy, and extremely original questions about the answers of life. No, the other way around. Between sex and ex; this is unabashed fun with no upper limit for black humor and fleeting jokes, where no laugh is offloaded, and even shameless thigh-slappers receive the right to stay as long as they only slap their own thighs.
