Der Betrunkene Sachse - Nüchtern betrachtet war's betrunken besser
Actually, Paul wanted to claim his wife as an extraordinary burden long ago, but she is still there: "de Muddi" – a great habit love and final boss at the same time. He only contradicted her once. Since then, he hears nothing out of his left eye.
So it’s no wonder that Paul, even 30 years after the drunken wedding night, is still sobering up. But who sways, ultimately has more of the way. Meanwhile, they sleep separately, but the sacrament of marriage still lies like a curse upon their blessing.
Thus, Paul increasingly stumbles through life alone. With well-founded half-knowledge, he assembles the IKEA bed even without instructions, only to realize at the end that he bought a shelf. Even his new "girlfriend" Alexa can't help. So better natural stupidity than artificial intelligence.
In the end, however, a man must do what a man must do. Unless de Muddi thinks otherwise, then not. Soon they will celebrate their "flower wedding." Then she will be wilted, and he will evaporate. And even though alcohol is only a solution chemically, it was soberly considered, really better drunk.
With "Mein Freund, der betrunkene Sachse," Thomas Kaufmann has created a tribute to the late cabaret artist Olaf Böhme, which made many guests cry from both laughter and emotion. Now he takes Paul, the drunken Saxon, by the hand again and leads him into today’s time. Of course, not without packing all the previously unmentioned treasures into the shopping bag. Because there is still so much to report: about knitted dresses and canaries, about lingerie and Tupperware, about vacations, cars, and other disasters.
