Die schönsten Himmelslieder
Still inspired by the celebrated Christmas tour, where Björn Casapietra performed in sold-out churches and halls, including in Magdeburg, Hamburg, Wismar, and Dresden, there is now a new edition of the successful tour – Die schönsten Himmelslieder 2.0.
The singer has remained true to his motto over the years: Music must touch the heart and soul as well as bring hope and confidence to people, especially in troubled times. What songs can do this better than set prayers – for over 20 years they have been part of Casapietra’s chart successes. Starting with a dreamy “Ave Maria” by Schubert, it culminates in his studio albums with Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” a moving heavenly song unlike any other, whose Casapietra interpretation takes your breath away.
The songs of heaven are meant to touch Casapietra's audience within. “In a soulful presentation, he reached the enthusiastic audience with his passionate, empathetic style,” described the Meininger Tageblatt of one of his concerts. The Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung praised his “...captivating intensity, which feels as delicate as it is penetrating to every syllable.”
The tenor has not only convinced for years with his musical performance; rather, Björn Casapietra spans an impressive arc from classical spiritual to secular music with his heartfelt voice and his special and winking humor, proving that there is no contradiction between ambition and entertainment.
In beautiful churches and selected venues, his repertoire includes, in addition to spiritual songs such as “Tochter Zion,” Mozart’s “Ave Verum,” Simon and Garfunkel’s global success “Sounds of Silence,” and the world-famous “You Raise Me Up.” The “Unchained Melody,” known from the film Ghost, George Harrison’s mega-hit “My Sweet Lord,” and the dreamy “Good Evening, Good Night” by Johannes Brahms are also on Casapietra's plan for an unforgettable concert evening.
High musicality, the exceptionally baritone warm timbre of his voice, as well as his vocal technique and stylistic sovereignty speak for themselves. Yiddish lullabies, Italian spiritual songs, and Celtic prayers to nature, the choir hit “Maria durch den Dornwald ging” – no matter what Casapietra sings, the audience has been thanking him for years with standing ovations. The press headlined: “A concert that touched the hearts of the audience.” Let yourself be transported by Björn Casapietra into a world full of harmony, lean back and enjoy, sing along and clap! Allow yourself to be enchanted by a musical evening at a very special place.
Casapietra's pianist, highly praised by both the audience and the press for years, is once again Peter Forster, who accompanies the star tenor expressively and sensitively. A concert experience like a statement for love, hope, and the confidence to experience all the beautiful things in the world. Casapietra reaches his listeners directly with a clear message against hate and intolerance towards the true values they testify to, his very special heavenly songs, and wins the hearts of people sustainably. “I want to feel that my music touches, enchants, and captivates people, and that I manage to make their hearts glow for an evening so that the stars in the night sky shine brighter when the audience goes home!” that is what drives Casapietra.
