As part of the Paderborn Rock Festival: The Hamburg Blues Band with the grand dame of the German rock, soul, and blues scene, Inga Rumpf.
As part of the Paderborn Rock Festival: The
Hamburg Blues Band & Friends feat. Inga Rumpf. A super session put together specifically for this night, a
chapter of rock & blues history,
unique in its form! A summit meeting of the St. Pauli blues-rockers
& the grande dame of the German
rock, soul & blues scene Inga
Rumpf. The band led by the Hamburg rock shouter often compared to Joe
Cocker Gert Lange, Reggie Worthy
(Ike & Tina Turner, Eric Burdon), Eddie
Filipp (Sweet, Inga Rumpf, Clem
Clempson Band) & the guitar
shooting star Krissy Matthews ("This
guy is the real deal"/Beth Hart),
blends heavy guitar blues rock
as joyfully as it is traditionally aware
with soul, psychedelic, rhythm &
blues, boogie & even forays into
jazz terrains. The special guest
that evening, Inga Rumpf,
celebrated international success over 50 years ago.
Growing up in the Hamburg district of St. George, Inga
Rumpf was already on stage as a front singer of the folk combo "City
Preachers" at the age of 19. With the
rock bands "Frumpy“ and
"Atlantis“, she achieved
international success and toured the USA with superstars like Aerosmith
& Lynyrd Skynyrd . In 2005, a dream comes true when B.B.
King invites her on his farewell tour.
The "Rolling Stone" once called Inga
"Germany's only rock,
blues & gospel singer of
world-class level". The all-star troop is rounded off by the organist Frank
Tischer (Miller Anderson, Spencer
Davis Group). Additional acts: Rockpommels Band & Rosalie Cunningham. Together, they guarantee
a musically high-class night with
a late, joyful ending!
