Bidla Buh
They look as if they are on their way to a festive reception: tails, cufflinks, pocket square, flawlessly styled. But the first impression is deceptive – and that is entirely intentional. Because Bidla Buh, the three gentlemen in well-tailored suits of music comedy, have quite a lot up their sleeves. However, after almost three decades of band history, they have decided to hang up their tails. But the three dapper gentlemen won't do so without formally saying goodbye to their audience, embarking on one last grand journey. On their farewell tour, after triumphant performances at the Tides Concerts in 2018, 2019, and 2024, they will make one final stop in East Frisia. This grand farewell party will take place at the Stadthalle Aurich with an ensemble that has long enjoyed cult status here.
Bidla Buh offers once more music comedy of the most bizarre and at the same time virtuoso kind. In breathtaking tempo, the three Hamburgers race through music history and stylistic worlds, letting around 30 instruments sound – including numerous self-made ones – and continually surprise with sound sources one would expect more in a garden shed than on a stage. Garden hoses and beer bottles become musical instruments, alpine yodelers meet Spanish castanets and flamenco, and stars of the German as well as international music scene receive lovingly biting parodies.
For over 27 years, Bidla Buh has stood for music comedy in the tailcoat of the 21st century: highly musical, relentlessly humorous, and stylistically diverse. Numerous awards, including the Rheingau Music Prize, testify to the extraordinary class of the trio. When trumpets compete in dizzying rivalry, pop icons meet at the miniature piano, and in the end, even soul legend James Brown ensures peace on stage at a furious cactus funk party, it becomes clear: Here, entertainment of the highest level is offered.
Farewell is the motto of this evening – and it is also a promise for a last reunion with Bidla Buh at the Tides Concerts, where not a single eye will remain dry. An evening to laugh, marvel, and celebrate – and to say goodbye to these three exceptional artists.
