For the Indie Pop Night, three local newcomers will perform and bring their own unique sounds to the stage. The evening offers authentic indie rhythms, relaxed pop-rock, and unpretentious melodies. Fresh music away from the mainstream invites exploration. A relaxed evening with good music awaits all who want to hear new sounds.
kleinstadt
kleinstadt stands for an entire generation. The friends Quentin, Timo, Johannes, Karl, and Fabio explore the joys and sorrows of young people with their German-language rock-pop songs, allowing a deep glimpse into their souls. Influences from punk and indie, combined with fast poppy beats, modern guitar riffs, and atmospheric synth sounds, transport emotional worlds like first love, heartbreak, friendship, and aging. The guys have known each other for over 15 years, and they have been making music together for ten years. Endless hours in the rehearsal room and recording studio resulted in their debut album "kleinstadt" in 2022, and in 2023 the quintet followed up with "all die jahre". Their deep connection to their hometown Herrenberg and to each other is evident in every one of their songs. With titles like "all die jahre," "3 mal," and "deine blauen augen," kleinstadt celebrated their first streaming successes - but nowhere does the band feel more at home than live on stage. Whether at the Kesselfestival 2022 in Stuttgart, the Feschtiwaal 2023 in Herrenberg, or at smaller gigs - the audience always gets "kleinstadt pur." The fun and energy spill over to the crowd, sending the viewers on a journey into their innermost selves. Performances, spending time together - that is and remains kleinstadt's greatest motivation. Five friends on the road leave their small town to conquer the hearts of all those who want to be part of this wonderful journey.
JISKA
JISKA's music is the gateway to a vibrant, tipsy, untidy world. Ancient soul dynamics meet youthful indie-pop attitude. JISKA feels - and not just because of the English-language lyrics - maximally international, reminiscent of the releases of young Lily Allen in her lightness and vigilance. The scratchy, warm voice seems only inches away from the ears of her listeners, always in the foreground without ever being pushy. JISKA, whose real name is Jana Franziska Binder, was born in 1999 in the Stuttgart area and has been surrounded by music from her first breath. Her grandfather runs a music school, her mother and uncle are professional musicians, and blues and soul records constantly rotate in the living room. JISKA has been playing the violin from an early age, sees backstage from the inside before she enters a school building, and becomes a bassist in a youth band at the age of eleven. Long before graduating high school, she writes her own English lyrics. Although she successfully completed a training program to become a speech therapist between 2018 and 2020, music is always at the forefront of her thoughts. In spring 2020, shortly before the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, JISKA dares to make her first solo release public. Even though her live performances are initially denied, the subsequent releases make wide waves in the music and media landscape. After completing her training, JISKA spends two months in Valencia, Spain - here, she creates her debut EP "Wild Blue Yonder," which is released in July 2022 and includes the first seven-digit streamed hit "Girl Next Door." JISKA then tours with Betterov and Rhodes across Germany. She rotates on the radio, is nominated by Deutschlandfunk Nova for the New Music Award 2022, portrayed on SWR-Kultur, and accepted into the "Bandpool" funding program of the Popakademie Mannheim. Following gigs at renowned events like SZIGET Budapest or Jazz Open Stuttgart, "It was you" signals the arrival of her debut album "Socially Awkward," which is set to be released on April 4, 2025.
Dews Pegahorn
Dews Pegahorn, an emerging force in the music scene with roots in Madagascar and China, captivates audiences with his unique sound and magnetic stage presence. In just 10 months, the Stuttgart-born artist has achieved what many musicians dream of for years: with his uncompromising rock release, he stormed the underground music scene and is now also reaping the first rewards in the mainstream. While he is celebrated in the alternative scene as one of the most exciting new voices, the big players in the music industry are also beginning to take notice of the charismatic artist. With a discography that consists of only 9 releases and a remix of his biggest hit "Runnin'," Pegahorn has already created a distinctive style. The Stuttgart native with Malagasy-Chinese roots does not stand still – on the contrary: his new projects he is currently working on sound more radical and bolder than anything he has released so far. Yet one thing remains clear: his sound remains sonically unmistakable. At his live shows, fans can look forward to newly arranged versions of his songs that turn the already driving, manic-depressive sound into a wild rollercoaster ride on stage. With high speed and powerful drums, he gets his listeners dancing – an experience that no one should miss.
