Even in their eleventh joint program “Neu aufgeregt,” their topics are not emancipation or menstruation. If they talk about days, then it's those filled with frustration over the situation in any variation in our nation: The Minister of Defense demands the young generation into the barracks, the AfD demands a patriotic interpretation of art on stage. On the other hand, companies flee abroad with their production because wages are too high here. And for the domestic market, we then search for professionals from the most remote regions for low wages. A mockery! Confusion instead of vision. This continuously incites the cabaret performers. Rebellion instead of resignation.
And so, in the end, they write their own review for their program in their own editorial.

The world of swing, rich in melodies and full of spirit - from Chopin to Django Reinhardt

“Music, dance and song” is one of the seven themes of the Peter Schmidt collection. Numerous pictures tell stories of people making music, social gatherings, and the unifying power of music.

Swing is also more than just a music style – it thrives on shared music-making, spontaneous interaction, and improvisation, embodying lightness, freedom, and pure joy of life. After their enthusiastic performance at a MuseumsMusik, the Shapes of Swing return with a full evening program.

With two guitars, clarinet, saxophone, and double bass, the quartet creates a diverse bridge from Chopin's mazurkas and waltzes to melodies from the black-and-white film era and French musette waltzes to Django Reinhardt and his musical heirs. Catchy melodies and exhilarating improvisations combine for an evening full of playfulness and spirit.
