The 80s represent pure musical energy, hardly any other decade was as musically diverse: Pop, rock, and punk were accompanied by new wave and synthpop, heavy metal was more successful than ever before. The 80s produced unforgettable hits, many of which tell great stories. It's high time for the 80s to have their own show!

"SWR1 Pop and Poesie in Concert - The 80s Show" takes the audience on a journey through perhaps the most exciting music decade of all time. The nine-member ensemble of musicians and actors interprets the hits of the 80s in their typical way with German lyrics and the songs in their own versions.

The success story of "SWR1 Pop & Poesie in Concert" began in 2009 in front of an audience of 50 at the SWR broadcasting hall. Since then, the mixture of concert, reading, comedy, and show regularly guarantees sold-out venues and seats. The premieres of the new programs now take place in front of up to 5000 enthusiastic spectators at the Stuttgart Castle Square as part of the SWR summer festival. Nine musicians, singers, and actors interpret the favorite hits of SWR1 listeners in a way that often-heard songs appear in a whole new light. The ensemble includes SWR1 moderator and actor Jochen Stöckle, actress Simone von Racknitz-Luick, singer Britta Medeiros, and band members Peter Grabinger, Patrick Schwefel, Michael Endersby, Klaus-Peter Schöpfer, Carl-Michael Grabinger, as well as radio legend Matthias Holtmann.

In his show, Richling parodies personalities from politics and society. So, you might see Boris Becker, Judge Barbara Salesch, or TV chef Horst Lichter dropping by the studio. The titan of German cabaret has only invited the A-list of celebrities in Germany to his show. However, no one has shown up. So, Richling simply plays his guests himself. This results in the funniest and most witty monologues that cabaret has to offer.

Five evenings a year, Mathias Richling takes on the current celebrities from politics and entertainment, recorded in front of an audience at the SWR Studio in Stuttgart. Here, with wit, speed, and depth, the societal present is dissected and Richling is showcased in his best roles."

The curious girl quickly wins the heart of the grumpy Alm-Öhi and experiences exciting adventures in the mountains together with Peter, a boy who herds the village's goats.

But happiness doesn't last long, as one day Heidi is sent to distant Frankfurt to keep company with Klara, the sick daughter of a wealthy family. However, she struggles to cope with city life and the strict rules of the housekeeper, Miss Rottenmeier. Heidi misses her animals and the freedom of the mountains! As homesickness becomes unbearable, a solution must be found.

Based on the well-known children's books by Swiss author Johanna Spyri, Jan Bodinus has created a theatrical adaptation. Enjoy a humorous, fast-paced, and visually stunning theater experience with the whole family!

Made for the Christmas season – a story with a lot of heart and humor and great entertainment for young and old. And the best part: everything in Swabian!

Yes, he is truly steadfast in character, the Stuttgart master baker Andreas Hintzpeter. After all, when his brother moved to America, he married his pregnant girlfriend to ensure the child has a father. However, he could just as easily be described as overbearing and stubborn. For example, he forbids his daughter Sandra from seeing her boyfriend, the tax officer Felix. Because she should marry the baker apprentice Ronny: After all, a successor for the business is needed! Luckily, Aunt Gabriele is there, actively and cunningly untangling the whole mess.

A punchline-rich and heartwarming comedy that shows us: No man can be so strong-willed that there isn't a woman even stronger.

“The play is a classic,” writes the Hamburger Abendblatt. After “Koi Auskomma mit dem Einkomma,” “D’ Mama isch die Beschte,” and “No net hudla!”, we are now showing another successful play from the Ohnsorg-Theater, lovingly modernized and directed by theater director Axel Preuß.

The Swabian adaptation comes, as always, from Monika Hirschle. She also plays the role of Aunt Gabriele. Alongside her is Reinhold Weiser, another one of our audience favorites, on stage.

The popular meerkats Jan and Henry are back on stage with a new adventure!

For many years, the Theater Lichtermeer has been touring with the grand stage show of “Jan & Henry” and has delighted thousands of little and big meerkat fans in hundreds of performances.

Now the two beloved detectives of sounds and sights are on a big tour across Germany with a new stage show full of excitement, adventure, and humor. A six-member ensemble plays, dances, and sings in this characteristic and unmistakable mix of people, puppets, and great music in a funny yet thrilling adventure.

This time, the story takes the two to Castle Piepenschlönz. Strange things are happening there, and Jan and Henry must solve many riddles. But the biggest riddle is the legend of an old treasure that the castle's residents are feverishly searching for in order to prevent the impending sale of their home. In addition, the brothers encounter Krokodella there. What role she plays in the riddle and whether the two detectives will manage to find the treasure is something you will experience up close in a new musical for the whole family.

After the performance, the little fans can get close to Jan and Henry and receive autographs and photos from the meerkats and the other performers in the foyer.

With kind permission and in collaboration with Martin Reinl, who invented and developed the characters “Jan & Henry” for the television channel “KIKA”.

„Fly with me! Fly with me!“, calls Albi, the alpine soaring bird, who nests under the roof of the Linden Museum during the summer months. On your tour through the permanent exhibitions, you will encounter the transparent kangaroo, hear about an extinct bird, get to know the octopus Toko, and listen to entertainment with Seraa, the elephant. Whether in pictures or clothing, made of wood, ceramics, and stone – the animals and their representations tell of the coexistence of humans and animals. This relationship is not always simple. On one hand, many animals are admired, revered, and valued as companions or domestic and farm animals; on the other hand, their habitats are being destroyed, and they are hunted or displaced.

In the exhibition, the illustrator Promina Shrestha brings the animals on the objects to life through her images. In the audio and stamp rally, you will discover together with Albi what the animals have to tell, solve puzzles, and collect stamps.

If you want to indulge yourself and your loved ones culinary-wise, you will find roasted almonds, crêpes, bratwurst, and much more in the 320-square-meter tent. From afar, the blue-white-red circus tent catches the eye of all visitors and evokes wonderful memories of past shows. Sit back and enjoy circus magic in a festive atmosphere this Christmas.

On July 5, 1944, Friedrich Schlotterbeck (1909-1979) was the only one from the resistance group to succeed in fleeing to Switzerland. He recounts his life in resistance and captivity in his harrowing biography "Je dunkler die Nacht, desto heller die Sterne."

Five members of the group did not reach Switzerland; they were arrested by the Gestapo along with the entire Schlotterbeck family and murdered in Dachau on November 30, 1944. Only Karl Stäbler from the group was able to hide for months until the end of the war in a small wine house near Luginsland.

The "Schlotterbeck Group" was a circle of brave citizens from Stuttgart, mostly communists, who had opposed the Nazis under the greatest danger since 1933. We can be proud today of the courage of these people.

Christoph Hofrichter reads from the life story of "Frieder" Schlotterbeck between 1933 and 1945 and accompanies the evening with songs from the socialist labor movement, by Kurt Tucholsky and F.J. Degenhardt.

Michael Horlacher provides an insight into the life of Friedrich Schlotterbeck at the beginning with photographs.

Rustle, crash, bang, ring, clink. Everyone be quiet for a moment! You train passing by: Be quiet! Airplanes in the sky: Quiet! Wind, you too, be quiet for a moment! And your squeaky shoes: Quiet now!
If one could turn off all sounds at once, what would one hear? We will be quiet and silence will become loud.
We turn to seemingly silent things and listen to the stories, sounds, and tones that reside within them. A theatrical journey to the limits of hearing with the gentlest tones and deafening noise, with ear protection and megaphones, with whispering stones, singing saws, and silent snow.
