Sharp observation and sober thinking characterize him, the famous private detective Sherlock Holmes. And without Dr. Watson, he is inconceivable. The two are confronted with a new case, one that truly piques their interest. It must be an exceedingly special case, one that only Sherlock Holmes is capable of solving. Perhaps a case in high society, even in politics? Does a former affair pose a danger to a politician? Under certain circumstances, does a scandal arise?

More will not be revealed. Dr. Watson would take offense. And not just he. Sherlock Holmes would punish us with disdain, and the so-called high society would certainly try to silence us.

A woman wakes up one morning in a hunting lodge and finds herself trapped by an invisible wall, behind which no life exists anymore. What remains are a dog, a cat, a cow, the mountains, a pasture.

“Through the wall I was forced to begin a completely new life, but what truly touches me is still the same as before: birth, death, the seasons, growth and decay. The wall has become such a part of my life that I often don’t think about it for days, it doesn’t truly concern me.”

Marlen Haushofer’s novel allows for many interpretations. “The Wall” as a symbol for barriers that separate us from others; illness, depression, exclusion, loneliness. The threat and at the same time the longing to be forced to live without people.

Dorothee Hartinger performs this Austrian classic in a staged setting by Christian Nickel, usually at the festival stage of the Burgtheater, which, with its heavy unfriendliness, is akin to a natural event. Muhr will experience this weightiness of the story on the open-air stage.

The car ride with the family turns into a road trip for Anne into a parallel universe, where the past and present merge into a highly toxic matter. Will they ever reach Münstereifel?

She fights for her space, her world, in the hope that it can become everything she wishes for and believes to be right. Her gaze is sharp, her heart is big. Her fate touches us and poses many questions.

One day, the iron gate of the institution stands ajar and 14-year-old Isa simply slips through to disappear into the woods. She sleeps by day and walks by night. Time and again, she encounters people – briefly and intensely – and then dissolves again to move on. She is accompanied by her diary, later also by a randomly found pistol, and by an insatiable hunger for truth, touch, life, and freedom.
Wolfgang Herrndorf, who gained success with the youth novel "Tschick," left behind a last, unfinished work with "Bilder deiner großen Liebe": the "Road Trip on foot" of a protagonist who is as enchanting as she is unpredictable.

Wolfgang Herrndorf was born in Hamburg in 1965, studied painting, and illustrated for, among others, "Titanic." His debut novel "In Plüschgewittern" was published in 2002. In 2008, he was awarded the German Narrator Prize for "Diesseits des Van-Allen-Gürtels." In 2001, he received the Clemens Brentano Prize from the city of Heidelberg for "Tschick" as well as the German Youth Book Prize, and in 2012 he was awarded the Hans Fallada Prize. Wolfgang Herrndorf passed away in August 2013.

Es geht um Liebe. Es geht um Hass. Es geht um die Unmöglichkeit, man selbst zu sein in einer zerrissenen Gesellschaft. Das berühmte Drama Shakespeares „Romeo und Julia“ ist eine grandiose Vorlage für eine zeitgenössische Interpretation.

Unsere Aufführung wird das Geschehen schildern, wie Julia es erlebt; ihr Blick auf die Welt ist der einer jungen Frau von heute. Sie kämpft gegen die ungerechten Gegebenheiten, gegen die fatalen Zumutungen und verachtenden Haltungen einer Gesellschaft, in der sie leben muss. Sie erkämpft sich ihren Raum, ihre Welt, in der Hoffnung, dass dort alles so werden kann, wie sie es sich wünscht und für richtig hält. Ihr Blick ist scharf, ihr Herz ist groß. Ihr Schicksal berührt und stellt uns viele Fragen.

The elderly strike back!

A widespread scam in which criminals contact elderly people and pose as their grandchildren or close relatives. The perpetrators pretend to urgently need financial assistance and deceive their victims. But what happens when the tables are turned?
True to the motto "the elderly strike back," the story between the quick-witted Veronica and her absent-minded grandson Manfred gets completely out of control. When Manfred visits his grandmother Veronica after a 16-year pause in contact, he expects everything except what follows. Initially, the older lady informs him that she wants to make him the sole heir, but not without certain conditions.
What Manfred then discovers in the cellar quickly triggers his flight instinct. But the front door is locked, and his phone is missing. And for Veronica, the conversation is far from over.
"Der Enkeltrick" is an entertaining, absurd, and multi-layered production that amusingly addresses a highly relevant topic.
