As 95% of Austrians, Stefan Leonhardsberger, born in Lower Mühlviertel, appreciates the coffee house, especially the Viennese one, as a unique institution that cannot be compared with any other in the world. And like 95% of Bavarians, Stephan Zinner, born in Hinterer Chiemgau, appreciates the pub, especially the Munich one, as a very special place. Both places have inspired, shaped, and changed writers, composers, freethinkers, and philosophers. In "Coffee and Beer," the two actors and cabaret artists will read texts from these very gentlemen and ladies - on the Austrian side including Karl Kraus, Arthur Schnitzler, Joseph Roth, and others. On the Bavarian side, Oskar Maria Graf, Joachim Ringlnatz, Gerhard Polt, and Karl Valentin are represented. As the selection shows, it can be cheerful, cloudy, loud, and quiet - all in all an Austrian-Bavarian blend, in which an attempt is made to shed light on the peculiarities, or perhaps even the commonalities, of these two ethnic groups. Stefan Leonhardsberger and Stephan Zinner will draw on old songs for the musical part, but will also perform songs composed specifically for the evening.
