18. Sommernacht in der Burg Grünwald - Quadro Nuevo
Mulo Francel Sax., Clar., Mand.
Andreas Hinterseher Acc., Band., Trp.
D.D. Lowka Bass, Perc.
Chris Gall Piano
The childhood friends Mulo Francel and Didi Lowka founded the ensemble Quadro Nuevo in 1996. Since then, they have taken their musical journeys around the globe – from Helsinki to Hong Kong, from the Caucasus to New York's Carnegie Hall. For their adventurous way of making music, they have received numerous awards, including two ECHO awards, a Gold Record, the German Record Critics' Award, and several Jazz Awards.
With the extravagant and playful accordionist Andreas Hinterseher and Chris Gall on piano, the music thrives on the immediate experience of the here and now – driven by the original impulse that once joyfully led the four young musicians across southern town squares and fairs.
Recently, stays in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro have once again shaped the ensemble's musical signature: intense rehearsals in sweltering midday heat, nighttime excursions, and immersing themselves in the local music scene, intoxicated by dance, rhythm, and South American lightness. From these impressions, the current album HAPPY Deluxe emerged as an aural homage to the warmth and joie de vivre of Brazil and those fleeting moments of happiness that, especially in turbulent times, unfold their special power – as a sounding, positive counter-world!
The 18th Summer Night will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 8:00 PM (doors open at 7:30 PM). To kick off the evening, a glass of Prosecco awaits you at the entrance. After the concert, the atmospherically lit castle courtyard invites you to enjoy the evening in a leisurely manner.
