Manuel Randi meets VIVALDI! - Manuel Randi & Oliver Lakota mit der Camerata Prag
Manuel Randi and Oliver Lakota have been friends for many years, and the idea of doing a joint "classical" concert with an orchestra has repeatedly come up. Of course, such a concert will have its own character when exceptional guitarist Manuel Randi plays, for example, the Concerto No. 1 in A minor (BWV 1041), the Concerto in C major for Mandolin and Orchestra, and the very famous Guitar Concerto in D major by Antonio Vivaldi, together with a string orchestra.
Oliver Lakota will perform the Concerto in D major by Giuseppe Tartini, the Double Concerto in C major by Antonio Vivaldi, and the Concerto in E flat major by Bellini for Trumpet and Orchestra.
Manuel Randi (guitar) is a sought-after musician and has the opportunity to perform with renowned national and international artists such as Tullio De Piscopo, Eliade Bandini, Massimo Morriconi, and Christian Meyer. Manuel's passion for gypsy jazz, the music of Django Reinhardt, and Klezmer music is reflected in the project "Ziganoff," of which he was a key member for many years. At the age of 30, Manuel Randi was considered one of the most important and versatile guitarists in Italy. During this time, he gave conservatory a second chance and enrolled for classical guitar under the guidance of Professor Leopoldo Saracino. Saracino introduced him to the secrets of the fretboard and the right hand and solidified Manuel’s passion for nylon strings. Nevertheless, he left the conservatory after three years because his wide-ranging activities as a musician and family commitments (Manuel is a happy father of four children) could no longer be reconciled with his studies. In Germany, he made a name for himself in the following years primarily as a flamenco guitarist, accompanying various singers and ensembles (flamenco is Manuel's personal passion - even though he considers himself only a bit more than a mediocre flamenco guitarist).
In 2011, Manuel became a member of the “Herbert Pixner Project,” the band of the South Tyrolean accordion virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist Herbert Pixner, and year by year, he enjoys increasing success with this quartet - both with the audience and with critics. One sold-out concert after another in the most prestigious halls in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland followed. Many of the band's recorded CDs are awarded the coveted “Golden Record.” Despite his intense touring life, Manuel Randi remains active as a soloist and has already released two CDs with his compositions: “New Old Songs” and “Toscana.” Here, the enormous range of his musical creation is stretched, rich in countless colorful facets and different styles. Manuel Randi's incredible technical skill and his enormous variety of musical styles leave the listener deeply impressed and excited time and again.
Oliver Lakota (trumpet) has been invited to many international music festivals and can look back on an impressive artistic career. Highlights of his solo activities have included performances at Carnegie Hall in New York, his tours in Japan with Robert Lehrbaumer (Vienna) or Veronika Böhmova (Prague), as well as regular guest appearances as a soloist with the Philharmonic State Orchestras in Toluca (Mexico) and Monterrey (Mexico). His highly regarded recital concerts with pianist and professor Veronika Böhmova from Prague demonstrate the wide range of his repertoire and artistic versatility. The Lakota-Böhmova duo has performed concerts over the past 15 years in France, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, the USA, Germany, and Japan. As a Baroque trumpeter, he regularly performs with various chamber orchestras, such as the "Camerata Prag" or the Ensemble ContraPunct_us. In the "Trumpet & Organ" formation, Oliver Lakota has been playing for many years with Bach prize winner Pavel Svoboda (Prague), Michaela Kacerkova (Prague), and German organist Stefan Kießling. Numerous appearances as a soloist with the Czech chamber orchestra "Barocco sempre Giovanne," the "Cappella Istropolitana," the radio symphony orchestra Pilsen, the Philharmonic Orchestras of Oradea and Brasov, the Orquestra de Camera de Cascais (Portugal), and several concerts with the state orchestras of Toluca (Mexico) and Monterey (Mexico) document his active artistic activity.
