Severin von Eckardstein is one of the most significant German pianists of his generation and has long been at home on many great stages around the world with solo and orchestral concerts. He has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the NHK Orchestra, and the Mariinsky Orchestra under conductors such as Paavo Järvi, Jaap van Zweden, Marek Janowski, Valery Gergiev, and Philippe Herreweghe. Von Eckardstein has given a total of eight piano recitals in the "Meesterpianisten" series at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. He is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Grand Prix at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2003, the 3rd prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2000, and the 2nd prize (due to no 1st prize being awarded) at the ARD Competition in 1999 in Munich. For the winter semester 2023/24, he received a call as a professor at the HfMT Cologne. Chamber music also holds a significant place in his repertoire. He has performed at festivals such as the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland and, along with cellist Heinrich Schiff, at the Risør Chamber Music Festival in Norway. Artists like Sophia Jaffé, Isang Enders, Isabelle van Keulen, and Igor Levit are among his partners. His CD recordings, including works by Schubert, Scriabin, Medtner, Wagner, and Schumann, have received numerous awards, such as the Diapason d'or.
Katinka von Richter is a concert pianist and multidisciplinary artist from Munich, who has been living in Paris since her invitation to the Cité Internationale des Arts in 2015. Her international concert activities have taken her to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, South America, and New York. As recognition for her interdisciplinary concert performances, she was invited as an artist to the Résidence des Récollets for several years in 2020. Here, she develops her short films instantPianoParis, in which she expands the relationship between classical music and other art forms and redefines her own role as a pianist in our time. Katinka von Richter's concerts are characterized by an uncompromising, sincere dedication to classical music as well as by a profound philosophical engagement with contemporary art. Her playing is significantly shaped by her teachers Anatol Ugorski, Dina Ugorskaya, and Oxana Yablonskaya. She also receives artistic impulses from Ivan Klánský, Eliso Virsaladze, and Lang Lang.
