Exciting rhythms meet old chorales and new melodies: The concert “Mit 3 Orgeln und 2 Saxophonen um die Welt” takes the audience through various cultures and styles – from early music to tangos to jazz.
The Berlin organist Volker Jaekel (organ, portative) and the saxophonist Gert Anklam (saxophones, sheng) create orchestral soundscapes, emotional improvisations, and unusual arrangements of classical works. In addition to the large organ, two rare instruments are used: the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the medieval Portative.
The entertaining concert is personally moderated by the musicians – vivid, humorous, and with many insights into the creation of their music. An evening full of energy, poetry, and unexpected tones that goes far beyond typical organ clichés.
