Schuberts Meisterwerk: die Winterreise - der bedeutendste Liederzyklus der Musikgeschichte trifft auf zwei besondere Lebenswege
The patronage of this event is taken over by State Minister Barbara Klepsch.
Two artists. Two biographies. A common mission:
Franz Schubert's Winterreise is more than a song cycle – it is a psychological exceptional state, an existential journey through loneliness, loss, and hope. In the interpretation, work and reality merge: the music meets two unusual life paths, which in their own way are shaped by upheavals, new beginnings, and a deep passion for art.
Together, Julia Aldinger and Stefan Bien tell this Winterreise anew.
With courage. With depth. With personal truth.
A concert that touches not only musically – but hits right in the heart of life - today, more than ever.
Stefan Bien – Baritone
Managing director of an international company in online marketing, he found his way back to himself after burnout and a period of deep exhaustion via the Camino de Santiago, painting, and ultimately singing. Today, he lives in both worlds: business and art. “You have the duty to go on stage with this natural voice,” Thomas Quasthoff told him – and so music became from a refuge to an artistic destiny.
He completed his vocal training, among others, at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. He received significant artistic impulses through work with renowned personalities such as Thomas Quasthoff, Jean-Noël Briend, Tobias Berndt, and Jan Fackelmann. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Wagner – with a special love for the song singing of Romanticism. With a vocal range of three octaves, he impresses with vocal complexity, depth, and colorful nuances.
Julia Aldinger – Piano
Growing up in a German-Russian musical family, she discovered her passion for art song only late, through a student job as a page turner in Peter Schreier's song evenings. Her pianistic training took her to prestigious universities in Dresden, Weimar, and St. Petersburg. Influential artistic impulses she received in the song classes of Christine Hesse, Karl-Peter Kammerlander, and Olaf Bär, as well as in masterclasses with Amadeus Webersinke, Peter Schreier, András Schiff, and Gerold Huber.
After intensive musical activity, she initially chose family – and took an unusual path: she completed a second training as a biological laboratory technician and worked for several years at the Helmholtz Centre Dresden-Rossendorf in cancer research. Today she is back in music: as a song pianist, she stands on stage again – with new depth and artistic maturity – and passes on her experience as a piano lecturer at the Landesgymnasium für Musik Dresden to the next generation.
