A school choir, a jazz choir, a classical chamber choir – at first glance, an incompatible combination. But the TagCHOReaner, the Tea-Cream-Singers, and the chamber choir Vocantare Berlin deliberately break down boundaries to celebrate diversity and showcase the strength of communal music-making.
For the 125th anniversary of the choir association, a project is being launched that impressively reflects the versatility and significance of choral singing. Each choir presents its skills in its own genre, but the special challenge arises in the joint singing. In doing so, the choirs transcend genre and age boundaries and address universal themes such as belonging, loneliness, and insecurity.
A blend of folk songs, pop, jazz, and classical music paints the picture of a tolerant community that has found its home in choral music.
