Am Fenster
A drama by Gerhard Weber
Imagine you are trapped. You live in a confined space with a stranger. Other people decide when you can leave, when there is food, when you have to go to sleep.
Now imagine that this is your everyday life for several years. No hobbies, no vacations – no freedom.
“Am Fenster“ shows exactly that: A life in a women's prison. A life characterized by compulsion, isolation, and monotony. Experience insights into the daily lives, thoughts, challenges, fears, and inner struggles of the four inmates, who could not be more different from one another. Tensions and approaches arise between them, affection and rejection – everything shifts in uncontrollable rhythms. And yet, they are all trapped in the monotony of life behind bars. Even for the guards, a normal life seems impossible.
The play raises the question of how to deal with one's own thoughts and feelings, but also with the fate of individuals and the crimes of the past.
A gripping drama about survival in the prison system and the attempt to find oneself in a world of strictness and isolation.
