Peer Oliver Nau is among the most renowned wood sculptors in northern Germany – his caricatured to critically exaggerated sculptures are unmistakable. His medium is the chainsaw, with which he virtuously carves very lively beings - humans, animals, and mythical creatures - from large wooden parts.

His works frequently express a regained childlike quality – and they love to stage the sensitive sides of human existence with humor and feeling: embarrassment, sensitivity, fear. A certain theatricality of the moment is indeed desired.

This sculpture exhibition will be complemented by selected photographic works by Wolfgang Sauer. We will showcase his collection on the cultural landscape around Ottobeuren in Allgäu „In the Moss“ as its title.
