Detailed Description
You can't get more than this! On this route, we show you everything in all its fullness and diversity: The state capital Munich, the Bavarian foothills with all its beautiful lakes, the Alps from Chiemgau to Allgäu, the Zugspitze, and of course, Neuschwanstein Castle. This flight is our absolute highlight, one you will dream about for a long time.
From our ALPEN AIR terminal in Augsburg, we fly over Dachau to the state capital Munich with the architecturally brilliant Allianz Arena of FC Bayern Munich.
We let ourselves be enchanted by the beauty of Munich from only 600 meters above and discover the English Garden and the German Museum, glide over Marienplatz and the Church of Our Lady, as well as Nymphenburg Palace. At a slow speed, we circle the futuristic BMW World and, of course, the Olympic Park with its 291-meter tall Olympic Tower.
From here, we take you past Simssee to the Bavarian Sea, the Chiemsee. In the middle of Bavaria's largest lake, you will find Herrenchiemsee Castle and Fraueninsel against the impressive backdrop of the Alps. We set course towards the mountains and just a few minutes later, we glance through the large windows at Kampenwand and the Wild Kaiser. In the following half hour, we simply absorb the grace of the mountains as we fly along the northern Alps for almost 150 kilometers. After passing the Inn Valley, we see Wendelstein and discover one idyllic lake after another amidst the impressive mountain world: first over the round Thiersee, then over the picturesque Schliersee, the small Spitzingsee, and the famous Tegernsee. We cross the Isar and see the Sylvensteinsee, while Brauneck and Benediktenwand guide us to Kochelsee and the green-turquoise Walchensee. In the distance, the rugged Karwendel ridge looms before us, and behind Garmisch, Germany's highest mountain rises majestically before us. The 2,962-meter high summit of Zugspitze is within reach during our flight, while the deep blue Eibsee shines up from the valley.
We conclude our mountain tour with the beauty of the Ammergau Alps landscape and the lake surrounded by mountains, Plansee, before the next highlight comes into view – the imposing fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein Castle! In a prime location, it rises at the foot of the mountains with a view of Forggensee. The Bavarian king would surely have loved to see it from our airplane at that time.
We now leave the mountains and turn our attention to many more lakes, each of which could be the most beautiful. First, we fly over the Murnauer Moos and the dark blue Staffelsee, then over Riegsee towards the colorful Osterseen, before we reach the Five Lakes Region. First, we pass the popular Starnberger See and particularly enjoy the beautiful colors of the water around the Rose Island. Above us on the "Holy Mountain" is Andechs Monastery, and in the background, we already spot Ammersee. Over Pilsensee and the Caribbean turquoise Wörthsee, our flight leads us back to Augsburg. Even though we missed not a single highlight on this flight, it seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. Full of emotions and unforgettable images, we reluctantly leave our window seat.
