IV. HAFT NAVA
Music from another world with the Javid Ensemble, Vahid Taj, Daniel Lazar, and Samani Brothers. Rhythms and melodies that tell their own story. Sounds that touch, rustle, whisper, knock, ring bell-like, clink a thousandfold, sob, gallop, caress, whirl, intoxicate…
Javid Ensemble
The Javid Afsari Rad Ensemble was founded in 2007 and consists of the Persian instrument Santur, a string quartet, a double bassist, and a drummer. The ensemble released its first album in 2007 as the "Rumi Ensemble." They perform compositions by Javid inspired by Persian, Indian, and Arabic music traditions, as well as Western classical music. Javid Afsari Rad, Santur and composition / Harpreet Bansal, Violin / Daniel Lazar, Violin / Tove Margrethe Erikstad, Cello / Adrian Fiskum Myhr, Double Bass
Vahid Taj
Vahid Taj is one of the leading singers in Iran, born in Dezful. He began his musical journey at a young age under the guidance of his father, the late Mohammad Reza Shajarian. His talent has brought him together with numerous renowned musicians at home and abroad.
Daniel Lazar
Daniel Lazar has over 20 years of experience in classical and folk music. Born in Serbia, he grew up with folk music from the heart of the Balkans, where various music and cultures merge—Roma music, Klezmer, classical, and everything in between. He draws inspiration from all eras and styles.
Samani Brothers
Behnam and Reza Samani from Iran are well-known percussionists worldwide. They combine a variety of rhythms, sounds, and colorful elements on Tombak and Daf. They have performed with renowned composer Hossein Alizadeh, the "Dastan Ensemble," and the "Zarbang Ensemble." "The Samani Brothers" are open to non-Iranian influences and blend their unique sound with rhythms.
