Best Before Christmas
Do you like traditional German Christmas songs? Or do you prefer international songs such as the American classics? You don't have to choose, because Amy Lungu's new Christmas program combines both musical worlds.
You will experience titles like "Joy to the World" in a completely new way. It will feel both familiar and unfamiliar to you. Arranged in a pop American style, this music comes fresh and unspoiled to your ears. The international songs should not be missed on the album. The Christmas repertoire is rounded off with worth-listening original compositions.
The Artist:
Amy Lungu has been giving Advent and Christmas concerts for years, with particular joy. The violinist loves the romance and warmth of the pre-Christmas season. Her favorite piece is "Sweetly the Bells Never Sound". Amy earned her concert diploma at the University of Music in Würzburg. Since then, there have been two CD releases and several television appearances. With her album "Favorites", she also performed in New York. The band from "Favorites" will also accompany her at this year's Christmas concerts.

As a guest, Ralf Beitner - singer-songwriter with his own Christmas songs will join as well. The title "Best Before Christmas" is composed by him, as well as "Over there for Christmas".
The Band:
Ruth Sabadino plays soprano, tenor, and alto saxophone. She studied jazz and classical saxophone at the Stuttgart Music University and received a jazz scholarship at the Royal Academy in London. Numerous television appearances - including in Thomas Gottschalk's Late Night Band - and international touring count among her successes. Ruth's favorite piece at Christmas is "I Stand Here by Your Cradle".
Christoph Weinhart is the arranger and bandleader for this program. The composer, pianist, and conductor is a lecturer at the University of Music in Würzburg and the Bavarian Theater Academy in Munich. In addition, Christoph regularly teaches at Chapman University in Orange, California. His favorite at Christmas is "Silent Night".
Christoph Sabadino on the drums also provides a relaxed rhythm for the band with percussion elements. He is a recipient of the Bavarian Jazz Prize and the Young Talent Award of the Leipzig Jazz Festival. He studied drums at the Music University in Würzburg and accompanied many jazz greats during his studies. His favorite Christmas song is "Ring, Little Bell, Ring-a-Ling".
Basti Schiller plays double bass and studied at the Music University in Nuremberg and Stuttgart, graduating with top marks. He plays jazz, rock, and pop and has already performed with musicians such as Vanessa Mai and Andrea Berg, as well as having permanent engagements in many musical and theater houses.
