Conny & die Sonntagsfahrer - Musik liegt in der Luft
Conny and the Sunday Drivers are known for their musical time travels to the 1950s. They present the unforgettable hits of Peter Alexander to Freddy Quinn, Caterina Valente, and many others in an extremely authentic and charming way. “Musik liegt in der Luft” is the name of their new program, and it is a tribute to the entertainment shows of the past, with contemporary themes, quirky commercial breaks, entertaining moderation, and of course, a lot of music. On January 14, 2024, the successful quartet will present “Musik liegt in der Luft” starting at 3:00 PM in the Reithalle Rastatt.
On Saturday evenings in the 1950s, the whole family gathered in front of the television. Choosing a program was not difficult, as only a few could receive more than three channels. In black and white, great showmasters provided colorful evenings and welcomed idols from the hit charts, from Gus Backus to Conny Froboes or Peter Kraus. Even today, their hits can inspire, and when Andrea Graf, alias “Conny,” with her Sunday Drivers (Rainer Heindl on guitar, Thomas Stoiber with accordion, and Steffen Zünkeler on double bass) sings songs like “Mariandl,” “Junge, komm bald wieder” or “Ohne Krimi geht die Mimi nie ins Bett,” a whiff of nostalgic bliss sweeps through the ranks, often rewarded with standing ovations.
“Musik liegt in der Luft” is a bouquet of blossoming memories, wrapped in the most beautiful hits of the post-war economic miracle years, garnished with the concept of an entertainment show and presented by a music quartet that has delighted tens of thousands of fans throughout the German-speaking area. This would have already been a “Eurovision show” back then, and the audience can now look forward to this.
