The extensive repertoire of the musicians includes arrangements of works by great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Edvard Grieg, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Astor Piazzolla, and many others.
Volker Jaekel, organist and pianist, elicits unusual sounds and earthy rhythms from the organ. These engage in a musical dialogue with the resonant and poetic saxophone of Gert Anklam. The concert will also feature two small, rare organs: the Chinese mouth organ Sheng and the medieval portative.
The musicians cover a wide range from early music to jazz, blending their diverse musical influences. Experience unusual arrangements of old chorales, original compositions influenced by collaboration with musicians from other cultures, orchestral soundscapes on the organ, tangos, and emotional improvisations.
