La Cage aux folles - Ein Käfig voller Narren
Georges and Albin have been a couple for decades. Georges runs the drag club "La Cage aux Folles," where Albin enchants the audience night after night as the flamboyant drag queen Zaza. Together, they have raised Georges' son Jean-Michel. Now he wants to get married: Anne, a woman! And on top of that, the daughter of an ultra-conservative politician, whose top agenda is to close all clubs! At a joint dinner, both families are supposed to get to know each other... Fun and disaster are pre-programmed when different life concepts and emotional worlds collide.
The themes of love, tolerance, and acceptance are as relevant today as they were at the world premiere on Broadway forty years ago, because we still do not live in a world where everyone can be who and how they want to be.
