Tom Gaebel has always been regarded as a man for the big stage, alongside Sinatra he has also dedicated himself to many other classics, sung James Bond themes, recorded two Christmas albums – and last but not least, he has written his very own songs. Songs that reflect his musical passion for the past, for a time when music was as elegant as the musicians who played it: the era of the "Great American Songbook"!

This was the heyday of American entertainment music from the 1930s to the 1950s when famous songwriters like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, or Johnny Mercer created all the famous classics that made Frank Sinatra and his predecessors like Bing Crosby stars. End of the 1920s: While the Comedian Harmonists are rehearsing their first own songs in the heated music salon of Asta Nielsen, Joachim Ringelnatz accompanies the silent film diva to her holiday home on Hiddensee. While the singers record their first records, the poet can be heard live on the radio with his own verses. While the comedians fill the big concert halls, Ringelnatz, as a solo entertainer, sets the cabaret stages from Munich to Berlin on fire.

Did they ever meet, the first "boy group" and the first "comedian" of Germany? In our program, at least their works meet, supplemented by some other highly amusing hits of the time – we wish you much pleasure!

In the great word factory, words are produced day and night. Nonetheless, very little is said in this land, as people must buy words individually to speak them. Only wealthy people can afford many words and use them lavishly.

The poor need luck when they find a useful word in the trash between "rabbit pee" and "dog poop" or catch a "pancake" blown by the wind. So do Paul and Marie. They are friends and understand each other even without words. Oskar, however, is Paul’s worst enemy. He has rich parents and never smiles; instead, he talks to Marie.

One day, Paul catches three words with his butterfly net that are flying through the air. These three words are like a treasure for him because he wants to say something very important to Marie for her birthday.

Mephistopheles now takes on the intellectual old man and leads him, rejuvenated by 30 years, on a journey into the sensual world. Ten years after her musical debut KÖNIGS-KINDER, Katrin Sass presents her new, moving program AM WASSER with brand new material: a mixture of her own autobiographical songs reflecting her soul and passages read from her biography DAS GLÜCK WIRD NIEMALS ALT. The lyrics were written by Antek Krönung (known for Christian Brückner, Jürgen Tarrach, among others) and the legendary musician, composer, arranger, and producer Rainer Oleak (known for Die Puhdys, Manfred Krug, Armin Müller-Stahl, among others), who will accompany her on stage at the piano.
