2001, Nancy, France: P.O.BOX plays their first show in France. Since then, the band has been touring extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Canada, and Japan, earning them a reputation for an "explosive stage performance." More than 700 gigs worldwide demonstrate how much DIY approach and passion the band puts into doing what they love: tearing down stages and celebrating with fans and friends!
The six-member band released their first demo CD titled Fartcore in the founding year and in 2002 a first split CD with Madskat from Belgium called We Are All in the Gutter but Some of Us Are Looking at the Stars... and sold 2000 copies each through the label PioProd, but without distribution. In 2002, the band won a competition in their hometown Nancy, paving the way for a contract with Winged Skull Records, a Luxembourgish label.
After many very successful performances at events such as the Dour Festival in Belgium, the Wasted Festival in England, and the Tabuns Festival in Latvia, the band released their first EP titled Rock My Reality on Winged Skull Records in 2004, which also appeared in the UK through Power Pop Records.
In 2007, ...And the Lipstick Traces, the band's first album, was released with four record companies, with Long Beach Records Europe for international distribution, Übersee Records for distribution in Germany, Guerilla Asso for distribution in France, and Unattractive Records handling distribution in Japan. In 2009, P.O. Box released their second album titled In Between the Lines again with the labels Long Beach Records Europe and Guerilla Asso, but this time In Ya Face Records took over the Japanese distribution. The 15-track album features collaborations with Chris Cresswell (The Flatliners) and Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers). The band toured around the world again from Canada to Japan through Europe and Russia.
In 2011, P.O. Box celebrated their ten-year anniversary and their five hundredth concert, and recorded a new EP that was released along with a two-hour tour documentary filmed during the European tour in 2009. The EP/DVD is called Detour(s) and was recorded and mixed by Steve Rizun at Drive Studios in Toronto. It was released in Fall 2011 via the usual labels and Bad Mood Records for distribution in Switzerland.
In 2014, the album F#rth#r was released. Since the band's inception, they can look back on numerous compilation contributions and over 700 concerts, where P.O. Box shared the stage with bands like Streetlight Manifesto, Big D and the Kids Table, The Slackers, or The Skatalites.
