Gelsomina's desire to understand Zampanò and be close to him culminates in unconditional sacrifice – a sacrifice that ultimately changes Zampanò himself when he realizes what he has done to Matto.
41 years earlier, Igor Stravinsky created a musical interpretation of the archaic spring sacrifice with the ballet Le Sacre du Printemps. Its tempestuous rhythm and dissonant sounds emphasize the inevitability of the events: a human sacrifice must be made to preserve the cycle of nature, the resurrection of which Stravinsky celebrates in the 'Spring Sacrifice.'

Between winter and spring lies the fifth season: Helau, Maju, and Halaudi. Where better to dress up than in the theater? In the Great House, mood cannons will be ignited. Between pink high heels and shiny patent shoes, a unique carnival evening unfolds in three parts: Wonder, Stand, Dance. And to top it all off, the house takes off with a grand after-show party featuring DJ Rent a Sunshine. Everyone is welcome, no matter how different: whether in extravagant costumes, elegant evening wear, or lavish glitter dresses. The main thing is that the heart beats for carnival.

The evening is organized in cooperation with KG Heuschreck. Various carnival societies, the Trier prince couple, mood veteran Helmut Leiendecker with his Leiendecker Bloas, the best gardens in the city, Kamelle Kapelle, Pratzbähnt, and soloists from the Rosa Karneval have confirmed their participation. Of course, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Trier, ensemble members, choir, and ballet company of the Theater Trier will also be part of this grand carnival concert in coordination with the Trier Carnival Action Community.
