"„Oh, You Merry...” The Christmas Program

Christmas should be merry... and contemplative. But above all, beautiful. And precisely because we want it so much, we stress ourselves out - "Oh" - to the point of being unconscious, experiencing stress, shopping madness, and getting together for traditional family quarrels.
René Steinberg says: Enough! The motto of his new Christmas program is "make Christmas great again". And the way to get there is through laughter. René Steinberg is very well known to many people purely by his voice. For 20 years, he has been doing satire, glosses, and comedy on the radio - legendary on WDR2 are "the von der Leyens", "Sarko de Funes", or the "Crime Scene with Till, Herbert, and Udo". On WDR5, he was the host and moderator of various live shows on the "Entertainment on the Weekend". Tens of thousands of visitors saw the trained Germanist at the WDR stage shows "Lachen Live", where he was on the road in NRW with changing companions for now 4 programs.
With his first solo program, the self-proclaimed power griller and BVB fan won several cabaret awards right off the bat from 2012 and was nominated, among other things, at the cabaret festival of the Wühlmice in Berlin. Almost half a million followers on Instagram and TikTok, her own formats on television, the German Comedy Award as Best Newcomer, a podcast, and performances in front of thousands of people like at the 1LIVE Comedy Night XXL – Negah Amiri is one of the most sought-after rising stars in the German comedy scene.

But what sounds like an easy career start straight out of a storybook was actually hard work. When she fled from Iran to Germany 20 years ago, the circumstances were anything but rosy. She ended up in a secondary school in Wiesbaden, where she was teased because of her first name. However, Negah did not let herself be discouraged, she worked harder than others, completed her high school diploma, and then studied applied media. A short time later, she hosted her own shows on the radio.
