Erik Stenzel – Releasekonzert: Aufgaben und Taten
After four years filled with concerts, crises, and climate activism, the Nuremberg indie songwriter Erik Stenzel will release his second studio album in band form on October 25, 2024. The release concert will take place on October 31, 2024, at MUZclub Nuremberg. From critical poetry and powerful melodies, he weaves multifaceted, alternative pop songs that incorporate political and philosophical threads, which sometimes only emerge upon a second listen. For the release concert, his songs will be musically transformed into punk rock numbers for the first time with a live band (Hannes Stegmeier Trio), while they will be visually experienced through the images of two artists, Fabian Reimer (Hamburg) and Enzo Eyeris (Munich).
To complete the revolutionary vibe of the evening, the Nuremberg punk band Trashperle will support with German lyrics and flute, ensuring that new perspectives must be taken. On this evening, despite Halloween, there will be no disguises, but a clear stance will be shown. The social conditions are already scary enough, and the future is fearful. It is time for art with attitude and message.
Erik has been on the road since 2020 and has made it his mission to sing against the silence of destruction. After dealing with the climate crisis in his master’s thesis, with his debut album "Augen auf" (2020), and in countless political actions on the street, his second studio album "Aufgaben und Taten" will be released on October 25, 2024, by Konstantin Wecker's label "Sturm und Klang." The recordings in band form at two different locations were made possible through a successful crowdfunding campaign (11,123 euros).
Politically engaged, Erik aims to empower people in their commitment to a better life for all. Songs like "Kein Liebeslied" or "Leuchtturmprojekt" address the activist strains and burdens, while "Der wahre Preis" or "Die Zeit läuft ab" make it clear that determined action is absolutely important and right. However, Erik also wants to reach and move listeners outside of the bubble. The story of the little boy in the pedestrian zone who does not understand why a beggar is sitting on the ground ("Schweigegeld") or the fate of the Romanian slaughterhouse worker in "Tischlein deck dich" evokes a lot of empathy in the heart. Likewise, the audience and Erik himself are prompted to self-reflection with "Überall ist Party" or "Maschinenmensch," without offering a clear solution. To round off, Erik, as an optimistic idealist, included two more songs on the album, "Freischwimmer" and "Aufgaben und Taten," which carry hope and courage for everyone.
Through the seeds Erik sows with his eloquent songs in the minds, new perspectives and emotional connections germinate. The simultaneous growth of anger and hope provides a suitable breeding ground for a better world to bloom. At every corner, a hundred tasks and actions await.
