The lyrics of Swedish frontwoman Linnea Mårtensson depict the significant losses and small inconveniences of life with heart-wrenching, sometimes even comical details, while clear keyboard chords and lovely three-part harmonies transform into dissonant freakouts and sing-along choruses. In 2022, the group released their debut album ›Band Made Out Of Sand‹ on the Berlin cassette label Kitchen Leg. It was played, among others, by the US cult radio station WFMU, which then invited the "bunch of knuckleheads" (in their words) to record a Syd Barrett cover for a benefit compilation. By the way, the band only wears matching outfits on rare occasions.

World music comedy

Who would have thought around 20 years ago that one could conquer the cabaret and comedy stages of the country with "Scherereien" and perfect Hessian dialect? In 1998, Johannes Scherer went on tour for the first time. Back then, alongside his congenial partner and radio colleague Robert Treutel ("Bodo Bach"). Four years later, Scherer's first solo show "Scherereien" followed, for which he was nominated directly for the prestigious cabaret award "Prix Pantheon". Over the years, five more successful solo programs from the TV and radio presenter followed.
In 2019, it’s time for an extensive “BEST OF” tour, where Scherer, born in 1973 in Alzenau-Wasserlos and raised in Schöllkrippen in the Aschaffenburg district, celebrates his 20th stage anniversary and takes his fans on a journey through his previous shows. In his usual manner, he presents a varied mix of stand-up, cabaret, and parody from the solo programs "Scherereien", "Scherereien 2.0 Reloaded", "Dumm klickt gut", "Asoziale Netzwerke", and the current program "Keinangsthasen".
In his more recent programs, Johannes Scherer parodies less frequently and instead brings relevant topics to the stage. He mercilessly takes stock of insecure consumers, automatic friend finders, concerned citizens, radical Thermomix enthusiasts, and anyone else who leaves their unsolicited and unnecessary communication clutter everywhere.
Additionally, the boys from the "DFB-Kantine" have their say again, his favorite Italian Luigi, and the now-retired Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger, to whom Johannes Scherer lent his more or less German voice in the 2007 "Simpsons" movie.

Market woman Lenchen and her daughter Marie want to report "Off Platt" and in a chatty tone about the personalities of the city, the quirky and the curious. Little stories of Wetzlar originals or rarely heard historical events will come to light.
The August Bebel (1840-1913) who grew up in Wetzlar, the confidence trickster Tile Kolup executed in the 13th century, the surgeon Doctor Eisenbart (1663-1727) who made fun of the Imperial Chamber Court, Eduard Werle (1801-1884) who managed the champagne house Cliquot, the Wetzlar original of the 1960s Hakim Rex Aquarillo, who was actually a shoemaker and regulated traffic on the Karl-Kellner-Ring in Wetzlar, and finally the fate of the planned city Lahn (1977-1979) will be presented during the walk through the old town in Hessian dialect.

The Haus Friedwart is a historical and architectural highlight. Located on a large garden plot at Kalsmunthang, it was built between 1914 and 1917 for Ernst Leitz II, the pioneer of Leica. Today it is only used for receptions and chamber concerts. The extraordinary interior design was created by the architect Bruno Paul, who became known as the builder of elegant villas and designer of sophisticated residential furniture. Interested parties can only gain insights into the villa's premises and its outdoor area as part of the tours. Here, of course, the eventful history of the well-known Wetzlar entrepreneur family Leitz is also explained in more detail.
