Winterfisch is an international instrumental project that combines captivating live performances and original self-compositions into an intense musical experience. Musicians from the USA, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Australia contribute their individual musical influences, creating a multifaceted soundscape. The tension arising from their fundamentally different approaches to composition and arrangement has a magnetism that permeates every piece of their album "Timeless." It builds up in beautiful musical arcs, bursts through in driving bebop lines, and finds resolution in intimate ballads that reflect the human fundamental need for real, authentic connection. The band was founded in 2016 in New York by drummer and composer Andy Winter together with pianist Walter Fischbacher – hence the name Winterfisch. The ensemble has since grown under Winter's leadership into a sextet that explores new spaces both musically and geographically. For about two years, Winterfisch has been touring regularly through Germany, captivating audiences with stylistic diversity, emotional depth, and energetic concerts.

Grown up in a small town in the Dutch province of Gelderland, Julian Sas spent his early years on a boat on the river, where he developed a close connection to the freedom of the water, which later strongly influenced his music. Over the years, Julian Sas was shaped by a wide range of musical influences, including blues, rock, heavy metal, jazz, and more. Already at the age of 13, he began playing in bands and developed into a talented guitarist and singer. At the end of 1994, Julian Sas formed his first band, with which he has been touring in various lineups to this day. His distinctive sound is a successful blend of original songs and covers, primarily of R&B tracks. He combines fast guitar riffs with soulful blues solos in the classic trio format: bass, drums, and guitar. His style is old school but modernly produced – equally powerful in sound and nuanced in tone. Julian Sas is a world-renowned musician with a large fanbase in the Benelux countries, the USA, Germany, Brazil, the UK, Eastern Europe, and other countries.

With their new concert program “For a Better World,” Giora Feidman and the Iranian composer Majid Montazer open another significant chapter in their artistic collaboration. Following the successful programs “Friendship” and “Revolution of Love,” they continue their musical message: a passionate plea for peace, humanity, and hope.
More than 150,000 concert visitors have experienced the previous programs – an impressive testament to the emotional power and international appeal of this extraordinary vision.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of death
Paul Schallück "Weiße Fahnen im April"

The Warendorf author Paul Schallück (1922–1976), a significant representative of German post-war literature and a member of Group 47, commemorated the courageous citizens of Warendorf in his story "Weiße Fahnen im April" ten years after the end of World War II, who were able to save their town from greater destruction in the final days of the war.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Paul Schallück's death on February 29, the Theater am Wall will present a revival of the "in situ" performance at the Emsbrücke and in HOT in May 2025, featuring the stage adaptation of the story developed by director Heide Bertram.

About the content of the story: On Easter Monday 1945, German soldiers are placing grenades under the nearby Emsbrücke in order to blow them up according to Hitler's "Nero Decree" following the scorched earth tactic. The mayor and some citizens attempt to prevent this, risking their lives in the process. They resort to a ruse, which, however, is ultimately seen through. Paul Schallück diverges from historical truth in his novella by presenting the 13-year-old son of the mayor as a courageous savior. This deviation is addressed and questioned in the play.

The political events of recent years give the theme a pressing relevance. Meaningless destruction and refugee flows are unfortunately not "old stories," but bitter reality even in 2026.

The interactive performance is aimed at children in preschool and elementary school age and will be moderated appropriately for their age.

Virtuoso drumming, choreographed show elements, and comedy – all this is offered by the award-winning formation "Schlagzeugmafia". Five percussionists in authentic Mafioso looks present drum entertainment at the highest level, combined with wit, charm, and a surprising wealth of ideas. Their drummed mafia story is a spectacle full of surprises, where music, comedy, and theater merge into a captivating experience. In about ninety minutes, the artists unleash a sensational mix of drumming artistry and visual performance. The drummers have rhythm in their blood and creatively and often absurdly combine pantomime, slapstick, and acrobatics. This results in scenes that rely on not a single spoken word – but evoke even more laughter and amazement. Flying pizza doughs, wild shootouts, spectacular chases, and plenty of winking mafia humor ensure a fast-paced stage adventure. Alba Armengou, a singer and trumpeter from Barcelona, is an exceptional talent. At just seven years old, the gifted soloist Alba Armengou became a part of the world-famous Sant Andreu Jazz Band from Barcelona, to which she belonged for a total of 13 years. This esteemed and renowned jazz school has produced several stars, including Andrea Motis and Rita Payés, among others. During her time with the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, she deepened her understanding of the world of jazz and was able to fully develop her outstanding talent as both a trumpeter and a gifted singer. It is therefore hardly surprising that by the age of 21, she had contributed to more than 30 albums. In 2020, she launched her own musical project with guitarist Vicente López and released her first solo album, "Susurros del Viento." In this album, she combined all the musical styles that have accompanied her on her journey, strongly influenced by Latin American and Brazilian music. On stage, she impresses in the trio with an exciting musical journey and her inner sound universe. She is inspired by Boleros, Catalan Cançó, Bossa Nova, Latin, and Jazz.

In his new program, it says: »Herr Schmickler bitte!« and this call is one that Wilfried Schmickler gladly follows. With a mix of spoken word, lyrical poetry, and poignant singing, he takes a powerful stand on social grievances, double standards, and everyday injustices. Schmickler aims to entertain seriously, grumble cheerfully, and uplift for the whole evening – with text cascades, diatribes, and mocking songs. His message remains clear: more tolerance, more compassion, more humanity. In this way, he continues his contribution to the "friendly transformation of the world." Wilfried Schmickler has been awarded all four major cabaret prizes: Prix Pantheon, Deutscher Kabarettpreis, Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis, and Salzburger Stier. He became well-known for his long-standing role in the WDR midnight highlights ("Stop it, Mr. Becker") as well as for his weekly "Monday Question" on WDR 2. He is also no stranger to the Theater am Wall. As a solo cabaret artist, he has been our guest several times and has always thrilled audiences with intelligence, stance, and humor. Now he returns – more relevant, sharper, and more entertaining than ever.

Two giants of the London underworld go head to head:
On one side, Macheath, known as Mackie Messer, the gang leader who, thanks to his excellent connections to the police, is considered completely innocent. On the other side, the beggar king Jonathan Peachum, who has turned begging in the big city into a lucrative business without any moral scruples. When his daughter Polly becomes engaged to the top gangster Mackie Messer, Peachum sees his empire in danger and hands over his future son-in-law to the police. Mackie Messer must go into hiding, betrays Polly, and is betrayed. And above it all, the moon seems to shine over Soho!
Two titans of the cultural world, Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, joined forces to create a unique blend of music and theater with the “Threepenny Opera.” Their colorful characters continue to fascinate today, and their songs and lyrics have become global hits.

This world-famous quote comes from the book »Le petit prince«, published in New York in 1943, the famous tale about the journey of the little prince. When a pilot has to make an emergency landing in the Sahara, he is quite surprised when a little prince joins him and asks him to draw a sheep. It quickly becomes clear that the little prince comes from a distant planet. He left it after a quarrel with a rose and has since been traveling through space. Along the way, he meets various inhabitants of other planets and their longings but feels foreign everywhere. After a touching encounter with the fox, who reveals a secret to him, it is time for the little prince to return: to his planet with the three volcanoes and the rose he loves. The timeless masterpiece by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry blurs the boundaries between childhood and adulthood and reminds us of what truly matters in life.

Tessa Ensler is a young, very successful lawyer in England, whose specialty is defending defendants in cases of sexual assault. Tessa is concerned with the legal truth and the evidence that allows her defendants to be declared "innocent" before the law. Then she herself is raped – by a colleague. She reports him and now finds herself in cross-examination on the other side – as a victim. Prima facie (Latin for "at first appearance") means in legal terms "until revoked," meaning that as long as there is even the slightest doubt about the course of events, Tessa's statement is not enough to convict the guilty party. Suzie Miller's monodrama "Prima Facie," which was very successfully celebrated in London's West End and on Broadway in New York after its world premiere in 2019 in Sydney, is now also becoming a "stage hit of the season" in Germany and has been shown in recent seasons by numerous German-speaking theaters – now at the Theater am Wall.

Here it is. The state actor Bruscon. With his comedy that unites the entire world literature within it. It is to be premiered in Utzbach, in the dance hall of the inn. For Bruscon, an unsuitable place. Utzbach is also far too small for this clearly certain world success. In addition, the stage floor is threatened to collapse, the air is too muggy, the fire department will probably not be able to turn off the emergency light. Furthermore, it is blood sausage day. Therefore, no one will come anyway. Says the innkeeper. The ensemble consists of Bruscon's supposedly sick wife and his two talentless children. In endless tirades, Bruscon inexorably approaches the start of the performance. Contrary to expectations, the hall fills up, hope sprouts that he might still be heard and worshiped. "If we are honest, theater itself is an absurdity. If we are honest, we cannot do anything anymore. Except kill ourselves. And since we do not want to kill ourselves, at least not until today and not until now, since we have not killed ourselves until today and until now, we continue to try with the theater."

Dance knows no age – so it is often said, but reality looks different. Especially dance, perhaps more than other art forms, knows age: The resilient dance body is a limited resource – regardless of showcase projects or "age-appropriate" choreographies. In the dance theater production ASHES, personal threshold experiences of two dancers and a live musician become visible as an expression of a present-day reality. ASHES simultaneously explores an ambivalent form of experience: What begins individually with fear and uncertainty can act as a field of force and space of possibilities on a societal level. "On the Threshold" refers to a moment between a lost past view and an uncertain future view. The Cooperativa Maura Morales consists of dancer/choreographer Maura Morales and composer Michio Woirgardt. Depending on the project, the ensemble is expanded. Morales was trained as a dancer and choreographer in Cuba and was a soloist at various theaters in Cuba, Germany, and Switzerland. Since 2008, she has been working as a freelance artist. In 2023, she staged her first opera. Woirgardt is among the most sought-after composers for contemporary dance. He combines musical opposites and works with both state and independent ensembles.
