Over 40 years of St. Pauli Blues! For four decades, five guys have been touring through packed clubs, ranking among the best that the European blues scene has to offer. The Hamburg Blues Band represents intense, cleverly arranged, and live dazzling roots blues that regularly shakes purists to their core. The band, led by the often Joe Cocker-compared singer Gert Lange, seamlessly blends hard-hitting guitar blues rock with soul, psychedelia, rhythm & blues, boogie, and even ventures into jazz territories with an eagerness for playing and a deep respect for tradition.

In 1982, the Hamburg singer & English saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith spontaneously founded the Hamburg Blues Band after a midnight session at the legendary Hamburg "Onkel Pö". "Dick Heckstall-Smith was our key to the British blues scene, our Brit-Blues connection." "He was to us what Alexis Korner was to the Stones & many others," Lange recalls today. It's no surprise then that over the years, the band has toured with the stars of the scene: Jack Bruce, Chris Farlowe, Mike Harrison, Arthur Brown, and guitar heroes like Clem Clempson & Miller Anderson became band members. "Moreover, we were incredibly lucky that Dick Heckstall-Smith introduced us to the legendary lyricist Pete Brown (Cream), who wrote our lyrics until his death in 2023 and was also a much-loved guest on our tours."

Even after 40 years, the Hamburg Blues Band continues to deliver surprises and showcases their very own sound far removed from any clichés. On the "Friends For A LIVEtime VOL. II" tour, the audience can expect a musical fireworks display with real characters and originals.

You are in the Dattler restaurant and participating in the evening dinner as a visitor of the psychologists' congress. The organizer of the congress, which focuses on intelligence research, is the bumbling Professor Dr. Werner Reich. His assistant, Dr. Claudia Stern, has to ensure that he keeps track of things. One of the congress participants is the contentious Dr. Jürgen Geier, who disturbs the evening and would have liked to become a professor himself. During the presentation of a new and sensational invention by Prof. Reich, one of the scientists loses his life. What initially appears to be a tragic accident turns out to be a murder attempt. However, the neurotic Commissioner Volker Odenberg, who is investigating here, is consumed by self-doubt. Therefore, his dominant and aggressive mother, the retired former head of the police department, intervenes in the investigation and employs controversial methods.

Fortunately, you will be served an exquisite four-course meal in between. This gives you time to digest the experiences and discuss with the other guests who the perpetrator might be. And don't worry: Apart from participating with all the congress participants in building an energy field for an unusual healing treatment, you won’t have to play along here!

You want to gain some initial experience and find out if pottery on the wheel is fun for you? The taster course lasts about 5 hours, spread over two days. On two consecutive Monday evenings, we will teach you the basic principles of pottery on the wheel. After an introduction and demonstration on both dates, we will be there to assist you with technique and process questions while you practice. For the glazing part, you can drop by the open workshop (Tue/Thu).

Through individual support, we convey the basic techniques required to create simple vessels on the pottery wheel, up to the finished glazed piece. No prior knowledge is required. At the end of the course, everyone will be able to hold their first self-turned cereal bowls, coffee mugs, and perhaps much more in their hands. With the knowledge gained, you can continue your successes in the Open Workshop.

Communication is the key!

The current MONDO production unfolds exactly where it takes place: in the cafeteria. There, where thousands come and go every day to eat, where they revel in culture and parties in the evening, where student life happens.

But what happens afterwards?
What generally happens when you are forced to spend a night together without knowing each other beforehand?
And how is communication handled in such a situation?

Once again, the performers of the MONDO Music Theater will take the stage of the MensaBar, dancing and singing musical to hip-hop numbers from the last two decades, showcasing their full joy of performing in entertaining and humorous scenes.

If a spaceship were to pass by and the aliens said: "We have room for an exemplary person so that we can learn something about the essence of humanity during the long journey" – whom would we send?

In the essay The Space Crone, U. K. Le Guin is convinced that a life-experienced older woman could best represent humanity. Inspired by this, Olivia Maridjan-Koop, who is approaching the third phase of life, explores the themes of transformation and transience as fundamental conditions of life with three artists from dance, spoken theater, music, and performance art. On an intimate arena stage, shifting identities and character traits of the solo performer unfold, much like the facets and layers of a lived life. Transience and adaptability emerge as the essence of existence.

The oldest profession in the world is shrouded in an aura of infamy, prohibition, and temptation. One of our Betty BBQ tour guides will now take you on a journey back in time to the red-light district of Freiburg in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, telling tales of tough guys and easy girls. Don't miss out on the exciting stories from a time when some streets in Freiburg were quietly bathed in a dim red light! In the "Snail" suburb, not far from the Schwabentor, the "profession" had been at home since the Middle Ages. Here, police officers would have a morning coffee with the prostitutes at the legendary Cafe Ruef. Here, citizens lived next to pimps, prostitutes, and thugs and bought their "Long Red" at the "Würschtle-Puff." In the Arena Bar, Freiburg's elite stood at the counter with scantily clad ladies at night, while at the other end of the city center, Gina Wildkatze, the boss of the Playboy Bar, stepped out of her limousine in a long white fur coat. She once had real white mink bikinis sewn for her 15 bar girls.

This wine hike combines the joys of wine with the fascination of nature and facts about the Schlossberg - offering an unforgettable experience! As we leisurely hike along the slopes of the Schlossberg, an impressive view unfolds before us: the beauty of the Rhine Valley, the distinctive Kaiserstuhl, and the majestic Vosges will enchant us.

Since the Freiburger Schlossberg is located right on the edge of the Freiburg Old Town and city center, the wine hike starts in the Freiburg city center and ends at a different location in the Freiburg city center (Old Town). The starting and ending points are only a 3-minute walk away.

In the Freiburg city center at the entrance of the pedestrian bridge "Karlssteg", which leads from Karlsplatz to Stadtgarten. The meeting point is at the bridge entrance on Karlsplatz, right next to the motorcycle parking. Our guides can be recognized by their labeled outerwear.
