Vor einem halben Jahrhundert traten die Dubliner zum aller ersten Mal auf deutschem Boden auf.
Nun kehren The Dublin Legends, die Nachkommen der legendären Irish-Folk Gruppe, nach Deutschland zurück. Mit in ihren Reihen, der Sänger und Gitarrist Sean Cannon, welcher schon 1982 Teil der Gruppe war.
Wenn The Dublin Legends die Bühne betreten, hat man innerhalb weniger Minuten das Gefühl man sitzt in einem irischen Pub. Das schlagende Herz Irlands, wo Geschichten über Seeleute, feurige Romanzen und unglückliche Lieben erzählt werden, während man ein Pint Guinness oder einen guten Whiskey genießt.
Keine Band kann mit so viel Enthusiasmus, solch eine authentische und ansteckende Atmosphäre schaffen, wie diese vierköpfige Band – Sean Cannon, Gerry O’Connor, Shay Kavanagh und Paul Watchorn.
Echte Folk-Fans kennen die Musiker vielleicht besser unter dem legendären Namen The Dubliners. Die Band verschwand, als Frontmann John Sheahan 2012 in den Ruhestand ging. Die Legende jedoch blieb! Genauso wie die unglaublich schöne Kneipenatmosphäre, welche die Zuhörer zum Stampfen und Klatschen begeistert. The Dublin Legends spielt Irish Folk genauso wie er sein sollte – rein vom Herzen.
Sie brauchen keine glänzenden Bühnenbilder oder Spezialeffekte, um Eindruck zu machen und genau das stellt die Gruppe immer wieder unter Beweis, wenn sie das Publikum mit ihren mitreißenden Liedern und melancholischen Balladen zum Feiern animieren. Bei den Klassikern „Whiskey In The Jar“, „Seven Drunken Nights“ und „The Irish Rover“ muss man einfach mitsingen!
Seid dabei um einen Abend das grüne Irland zu erleben und die wohltuende, ansteckende Art der Dublin Legends auf euch wirken zu lassen!
Der Warschauer Aufstand 1944 – Ausstellung

Die Ausstellung zeigt das dramatische Schicksal Warschaus – einer Stadt, die von Brutalität der deutschen Vernichtungsmaschinerie wie kaum eine andere während des Zweiten Weltkriegs betroffen war. Sie beginnt mit einer Präsentation Warschaus in der Vorkriegszeit; die folgenden Abschnitte zeigen das besetzte Warschau – die deutsche Politik gegenüber der polnischen Bevölkerung, auch gegenüber den jüdischen Mitbürgern, die Entscheidungen im NS-Staat, den Straßenterror, die Entstehung des Ghettos, die Lebensbedingungen und die kulturellen Aktivitäten, die sich unter extremen Bedingungen entwickelten.
Warschau wird auch als Hauptstadt des polnischen Untergrundstaates vorgestellt, seine Strukturen, die Verwaltung, die Medien, das Bildungswesen, Żegota (polnischer Rat zur Unterstützung der Juden, die einzige staatliche Organisation dieser Art in Europa während des Zweiten Weltkriegs). Es werden auch das Militär und die von der Heimatarmee durchgeführten Aktionen gezeigt. Der Höhepunkt der Ausstellung ist der Warschauer Aufstand in seiner ganzen Komplexität. Am Ende dieses Abschnitts wird der Film „Stadt der Ruinen“ gezeigt, der das ausgelöschte und zerstörte Warschau zeigt. Der letzte Teil der Ausstellung zeigt die wiedergeborene Stadt, ein Phänomen des Wiederaufbaus der Nachkriegszeit, die sich aus den Trümmern erhebt und heute eine moderne und dynamische Metropole ist.
