The Weimar Piano Quartet consists of musicians whose paths crossed at the ‘Franz Liszt’ University of Music in Weimar. The ensemble was founded in 2010. Since then, it has consistently gathered in its original formation for chamber concerts. Over the years, the four musicians have explored a significant portion of the piano quartet literature and developed a special, unique sound. A major highlight for the ensemble was the world premiere of the piano quartet by Lebanese composer Houtaf Khouris in 2016. Audiences and the press were thrilled. "The way they lead piano and strings to a harmonious unity gives goosebumps," said the Lausitzer Rundschau. The piece has since become part of the ensemble's repertoire.
The musicians share a special love for chamber music and a deep friendship with each other. In 2024, their first CD featuring works by Antonìn Dvoràk was released.
