For 2 years now, small, cozy, and acoustic concerts have been taking place on the first Sunday of each month at special and unusual locations in Osnabrück.
The concert series "Wohnzimmerkonzerte Osnabrück" enjoys great popularity and has a history of sold-out evenings in theaters, studios, dance schools, coffee roasteries, bookstores, and much more.
Musicians from all over Germany and abroad travel to provide the audience with an unforgettable evening.
The special thing: there are no tickets available for general sale and no box office. Interested parties can only secure places for the Wohnzimmerkonzerte by signing up for the email distribution list in advance. They will then be regularly informed about upcoming Wohnzimmerkonzerte through this list.
Even then, you will only know the exact address of the concert once the tickets have been paid for.
It doesn't get much more exclusive!
However, the WOHNZIMMERKONZERT FESTIVAL will be different. As a thank you for the successful past 2 years, the organizers of the Wohnzimmerkonzerte Osnabrück invite you to the big FESTIVAL – with 4 acts for the price of one – and on what is arguably the most beautiful stage in the city – in the Saal der Lagerhalle!
The evening will be guided by Ulf Ronnsiek, founder and mastermind of the concert series.
CHARLOTTE PELGEN & JAKE SMITHIES
Inspired by the swing of the 1920s and 1930s, Charlotte Pelgen released her debut album "My Beetle & I" in the fall of 2023 and quickly made a name for herself in the European ukulele scene.
Musically, she stretches the bow much further. Her love for chanson and folk unmistakably mingles in her compositions.
Content-wise, Charlotte proves to be a master student of the great songwriters of the 1920s and 30s: Her lyrics tell small, personal stories, are poetic, witty, cheeky, and always entertaining. Her music is a bow to the artists of earlier eras, but always with a large dose of Charlotte. Sometimes cheeky and swinging, sometimes delicate and complex.
Joining her that evening is British double bassist Jake Smithies, who is a staple in the European swing scene with his duo “Dead Man’s Uke”.
Chansonnier Sebastian Krämer said of Charlotte:
“Vocals that narrate down to the finest nuance; delivery that remains entirely music in every emphasis, every smile, every frown. Sung, penetrated – first the song, then the listener.”
DAVID LÜBKE
New songs – New times
Who writes songs today like “Der Mond ist aufgegangen”? The answer is David Lübke. This singer-songwriter newcomer has what it takes to carry on the tradition of old songwriters into the future. This awake dreamer writes beautiful songs full of poetry and wit and looks out at the world from his window. He describes this world in his concerts with pointed stories that he has collected on his travels. For example, on his so-called singer-songwriter tour, where he hitchhiked through the lands with his guitar and was allowed to look into the homes and souls of people while offering mini-concerts at their doors. This idea reveals much about the sympathetic musician, whose texts always deal with the core of humanity. He sings to the guitar and the 5-string banjo, drawing on folk and pop music, which makes his songs contemporary. David Lübke writes new songs for new times. Unpretentious, quirky, wonderful!
He is currently presenting his new album "Fahrender Sänger," on which, alongside original compositions, he also features folk songs that he collected during his singer-songwriter tour throughout Germany.
Rarely has German folk sounded as lively and fresh as here!
THE LAKE AND THE WOLF
looks back on over 800 concerts in the last 10 years with his dreamy, autobiographical songs. He has shared the stage with big names like Konstantin Wecker, Alin Coen, Wallis Bird, or Mine and has already stepped onto the distinguished stage of TV NOIR. Peter Urban, who was the host of the ESC until 2023, described his music as “extraordinary and genuinely touching.”
On stage, it is important for Ulf Ronnsiek, his real name, to tell the stories behind his songs. These are sometimes sad, sometimes funny, and sometimes extraordinary. One thing seems certain: a concert with THE LAKE AND THE WOLF is like an autobiographical journey, where the audience gets to know the musician from Osnabrück very well, thanks to his songs and stories.
LUDWIG WRIGHT
Ludwig Wright is a British-German songwriter, poet, and performer who harmonizes sing-along melodies with rock 'n' roll and folk. Musically, he is the child of Elvis Presley and Joni Mitchell. Thus, he combines stage presence and a charming smile with a clear, strong voice and fingerpicking skills. Ludwig Wright transcends genre boundaries, sings in English, and has performed street shows across Europe and over 250 concerts to date, appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and made his impressive debut at the Rudolstadt Festival 2023.
He released his first two albums "HOPE" (2018) and "LOVE" (2020) independently. In August 2023, his third album "Turn of Tides or Where the Waves Come From" was released, described by Schall Magazin as a “colorful kaleidoscope of earwormy song gems” and nominated for the German Record Critics' Award. For the recordings, he was able to enlist producer Micki Meuser, who has previously worked with legends like Ina Deter, Silly, and Die Ärzte. Additionally, Ludwig Wright co-wrote and sang a song with film composer Freya Arde for the fourth film adaptation of Erich Kästner's novel "Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer". Recently, he released his latest single "Love Letters". He dedicated the song to a friend with the advice: “Have the courage to feel.”
“Ludwig Wright is a born entertainer and storyteller.” Göttinger Tageblatt
