For years, Dieter Ilg has been one of the most influential voices in European jazz. His international reputation is based on his electrifying vitality in playing, intelligent curiosity, technical brilliance, and sensitive dedication to the moment. This culminated in three ECHO Jazz Awards, especially for his trio projects.
The accolades for the renowned double bassist are also due to his two fabulous colleagues, Rainer Böhm (piano) and Patrice Héral (drums), who are unmatched.
After arrangements and improvisations of exclusively classical works, a very personal program as well as an album have now been created. A surprise, a transformation, and a metamorphosis at the same time. One must experience this German-French, internationally established trio; merely listening is not enough.
"Dieter Ilg and his trio are world-class." G&B
“Dieter Ilg is not a border crosser; he builds bridges.” Rondo
“A fabulous, absolutely equal trio.” Jazz thing
"It is the first time that we are not using a classical composer as a 'theme', but a colorful mix of my favorite songs, various original compositions, pop songs from the 60s and 70s, and various reminiscences. Of course, spiced with a portion of humor, individuality, wildness, a sense of home, and stubborn, immense affection. It is thematically dedicated especially to my origin, my roots and tradition, the protection of Mother Earth, and the feeling of being at home."
